National Honor Society, a society that was founded on four basic principles; scholarship, service, leadership, and character. A society that strives to serve its community giving back to create a better environment for all. This mission and these principles are the same principles valued and practiced at Vista Murrieta with the C.L.A.S.S (Character, Leadership, Attitude, Scholarship, and Service). I believe that at Vista Murrieta I have exemplified these principles and have conducted myself in a way that highlights them. I have held many leadership positions, performed several acts of service, am a scholar, and have a well-defined good character. In addition, I really want to join this society to give back to my community, which is why I should be accepted in the National Honor Society.

Being in a leadership role is somewhere I have always found myself in, it comes naturally to me and it is something I excel at. Whether it is leading my class by being their class representative or simply leading my group in a project, I always make sure that whatever needs to get done is not only done but done to elevated standards. As a leader, you should be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses or your group and be able to strategize them to put them in a position where they are going to be the most successful and produce the best results. Furthermore, as a leader, you have to connect with the member of your group so they feel comfortable talking to you about problems however at the same time you have to be able to have hard conversations with people so that your group can be successful. I feel that I have really honed these skills through my various roles as a leader. I have been the captain of multiple sports teams, being a class representative in my student consul, was the president of my school’s CJSF, and was the president of my school NJHS.

Moreover, I perform acts of service for others frequently. I have already performed about 150 hours of community service for Vista Murrieta and I am only a Junior. Over the summer I attended a medical mission to Honduras for a week, And over last year’s pandemic I routinely volunteered at the Murrieta Food Pantry. Also, I represent the characteristic of scholars extremely well. Throughout my high school career I have always maintained a GPA above a 4.0, have never received a grade less than an A, and have consistently had had the number one ranking for my class. I practice scholarly actions such as time management, being studious, and forming respectful bonds with all of my teachers. You should consider me also for the character in which I conduct myself with. I always attempt to act as a person who conducts themselves with honesty, common sense, and servitude towards others.

Additionally I should be considered for the National Honor Society because this is not my first experience and involvement with the NHS. When I was in eight grade I joined and was president of my school's NJHS program. During my tenership in this program I organized many events that felt served my community. This included but is not limited to having all the member of the NJHS volunteer for 2 hours every Wednesday morning, creating hygiene care packages to hand out to people, organizing my schools involvement in operation Santa, and having my school largest donations to the CRS Rice Bowl Organization. My involvement in NJHS makes me see how much I appreciated and loved giving back to my community and has made me eager to continue giving back. This is why I want to join the NHS and why you should accept me into your federation.
