When applying to The Academy of Research and Medical Sciences, the field that interests me the most is general surgery. This wasn't a decision I decided from the get-go. It was a gradual learning process that finally drove me to choose it as a future career path. In this field, I will have the environment to learn and test myself, and the knowledge I already have. The academy will give me various opportunities to step foot in the field of general surgery and trek through years worth of hardships.

The field of general surgery continually changes and reinvents itself for the benefit of its patients. But the core values surgeons need remain the same. To be a “good surgeon”, I need to have a level mind during stressful situations. Furthermore, I must think in a logical manner as I'm performing. I need the creativity to go forward amid unanticipated circumstances. As a surgeon, I am required to be quick on my feet and mentally prepared to manage any given situation.

A surgeon must know various parts of the human body to accurately tackle obstacles that arise during surgery. General surgeons must be able to undertake the job of a trauma surgeon. While also having the skills to manage issues relating to the head and neck, abdominal wall, vascular, and endocrine systems. General surgeons must build diverse knowledge of aspects of the human body. Having the opportunity to attend the Academy of Research and Medical Sciences will allow me to gain the information required to perform my art efficiently.

The Academy of Research and Medical Sciences is designed to provide an advanced learning environment that fits the needs of its students. Internships and research projects give students the opportunity to gain knowledge in the fields they are interested in. The academy provides students with a solid foundation for entry into their respective fields. With this said, the Academy of Research and Medical Sciences has the best environment that will allow me to have a reliable foundation to pursue my career in general surgery. Thus is the best place for me to attend.
