Change is difficult, especially if you had a hard life like Scrooge from A Christmas Carol or Roger from Thank You M am. Many ways can change someones’ life, like reflecting on your past, kindness, and having choices. These are some ways that can make a huge change in someone's life. To support the question, we are going to talk about three examples from the texts A Christmas Carol, Thank You M am, and At the Crossroads.

Reflecting on your past is a huge way to change someones’ life. One quote, from “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, helps support the reason for reflecting on your life, is a huge way to change someones’ life. Scrooge falls to the ground while sobbing, after seeing his past self as a kid when he was at boarding school sitting alone because he was neglected by his friends because Scrooge lived alone in his head or lived in a dark space, and this made him reconsider his life, and made him change and the people around him. This quote is exceptional to this topic because it shows us that if we consider our past. We will change to make our lives better and everyone around us will change their opinion about us and would like to be around you more or tell other people that you changed, and they may ask you to be their friend and would change your life significantly.

Kindness is a major way of changing someones’ life largely and may affect how people think about you, but in Thank You Ma'am Roger tries to steal Luella’s purse to buy some blue suede shoes, but he gets pulled to her house, and she feeds him, washes him, and give him money after all he’s done, When Roger left Luella's house we could inference that what happens in Thank You M am is pure kindness out of the blue, and it helps us understand that if we are kind it will change someone's life and will reflect on us, and people would like to be with you and your life might change as well, but Luella could have turned Roger in and that would also make a change in his life, but Luella chooses kindness and trust. Then made a huge difference in Roger’s life. Having multiple choices during life can make a remarkable difference in someones’ life.

Having choices is a major way that changes someones’ life. In our model text At the Crossroads, Nick Kleckner had to choose between living in a rut, or leaving everything behind and having a journey, so he left everything behind and started a hard journey, but along the way, he learned a lesson about that you should be thankful for everything you have and when he went back to his family. He did not feel like his life was in a rut anymore, and made a remarkable change in his thoughts of life. This shows us that making choices is a major way to change someones’ life. It also changes the people around you like Nick; he left his family, which probably changed their lives too, but Nick showed if you make a hard choice in life like he did you might learn a life lesson and think of your life differently.

To conclude my essay, change in someones’ life can make a big difference in you and the surrounding people. We talked about three different examples from different texts like, At the Crossroads, Thank You M am, and A Christmas Carol to show reasoning and support that reflecting on your past, kindness, and having choices can make a huge impact on someone's life.
