Hearing an artist in an advertisement can lead to many good things. People might think, "Oh yeah, I love this person so I will buy what this ad says just because it has their song in it." This purchase would help the artist a lot. An artist should use their music in an advertisement for many reasons. Some are times change, it pays good, and can lead to making smaller artists bigger.

To begin with, one reason why people should use an artists' music in advertising is because times change and they need to get with what is new. Buying albums is something that is not common now. Most people can just listen to it on their phones which is something everyone has. According to, "The Changing Landscape of the Music Business" it states, "Regardless of what artists may think about this shift in the music industry, there’s no arguing that they need to adapt in order to make money." People just can't just stay in the past they need to get with the times. Not everyone has the old technology such as a record player to listen to it, which could lead to fewer sales. This is one reason why artist music should be in advertising.

Furthermore, an artist's music should be in advertising because it pays well. If they want to go on tour they would have a sponsor who helps them pay for things. This would lead to more money for the artist for personal uses such as food, gas, and even a house. The source, "The New Necessity in the Music Business states, "A corporation paying for these costs can make the difference between artists growing their careers, or completely giving up on the music business altogether. And while the sums of these deals aren’t disclosed, a band can earn anywhere from $10,000 to $150,000—plenty of money for equipment, touring, and living expenses." An example is, the Peas who also did this method and they discovered that the more marketing someone does the more money they will get. This is another reason why an artist should advertise their music.

Some may believe that an artist should not use their music in an advertisement because they can't do whatever they want when pairing with a company. But, it's their choice to pair with a company like that. There are companies that will let them do what they want and pay well. An artist would simply just have to look. The source, "The New Necessity in the Music Business" states, "For example, the massively successful pop group, the Black Eyed Peas, focuses on exposure before a paycheck. For years, they’ve allowed corporations to use their music in advertisements for cars, electronics, and jeans, among many other goods." This is another reason why an artist's music should be in advertising.

To end off with, the last reason why an artist's music should be in advertising is that it helps make smaller artists bigger. Their songs would be heard more often and more people would want to listen to them. The source, "The Changing Landscape of the Music Business states, "Zoë Keating, a cellist who describes herself as established but non-mainstream, suggests that these services should be viewed as a way for musicians to get their music out there and not as an income source." Getting their music heard by a wider audience will help with many things. Which can lead to the artist and the fans interacting more. This is the last reason why an artist's music should be in advertising.

In conclusion, an artist's music in advertising has many benefits. Some being times change, it pays good, and it helps smaller artists be heard. Artists would not be doing a smart thing if they decline someone who is offering them money to help them, while they get money themselves. These are all the reasons why an artist's music should be in advertising.
