Argumentative Essay Example On Snapchat

Snapchat. The number one way of communication used by teens and adults alike all across the world, the thing that people ask you for when you first meet them, and now, the app that I believe should be acquired to my phone. I should be able to have Snapchat because it's the number one way of communication, I am old and mature enough to handle it, and it will better help me socialize with people in our neighborhood. 

To begin with, the first reason that I should get Snapchat is because it’s the number one way of communication now. For example, just yesterday I met our neighbor, Soo-Lin. We chatted for a long time and found lots of things in common! When we reached the end of our interaction, and we both had to go, Soo-Lin asked me for my Snapchat. This proves that Snapchat is the go-to way of connection because before asking for anything else, Soo-Lin asked me for my Snap. Certainly, if this application is the preferred way to connect with friends (and even family in some cases!) then it is obvious that I should be able to have this app. Additionally, proving again that Snapchat is the leading app for conversation- everyone at my school has this app! Especially in my grade, Snapchat is arguably the most used app for contacting your friends. For instance, in a recent study of the statistics of eighth graders with Snapchat, results revealed that 55.09% of eighth graders possessed the app, with more than half of this number being girls! This number presents the idea that if I were to acquire this program, I could make more friends that I hang out with outside of school. This is because I wouldn't have to physically ask for everyone’s numbers, but rather easily find girls from my school on the app, friend them, and bam! I can start communicating with them. It’s that easy! Now, I can see how this idea can also scare lots of parents- it’s “that easy” for my daughter to text random strangers on the internet wherever she feels like it? No way! I see how that is seemingly a deal breaker, but let me assure you, I would never talk to someone I didn’t already know. The reason I want this app is for me to talk to my friends at school, not so I can waste my time and break my loving parent’s trust. The only people I want to connect with on Snapchat are people from my school, and our neighbors like Soo-Lin. I want Snapchat because it is the leading source of conversation in my school and the world. 

Secondly, I should obtain Snapchat because it will better help me socialize. Firstly, whenever we play Spikeball and we are trying to find more people to play with, you always say how I need to make more friends and play with them. The only reason I can’t do this is because I don’t have anyone’s number! However, if I had Snapchat, I would be able to text them through the app and see if anyone wanted to play Spikeball with me! Another example is Soo-Lin! She could be my new volleyball partner, and I could contact her through Snapchat. Furthermore, the possibilities are endless when it comes to socializing and making friends through Snapchat. This becomes even more important as I go to high school, where I will be meeting lots of people who will have Snapchat- and it will without doubt be their preferred source of communication. Making new friends is a huge part of the high school experience, and Snapchat will only assist me in this journey. From exchanging my Snapchat with my fellow teammates on the volleyball team to classmates in yearbook, debate, or Slavek heritage club, Snapchat is the best way to socialize with people- which displays why I should get this fine application. 

Finally, I should possess Snapchat because I am old and mature enough for it. The minimum age for Snapchat is 13 years old. Last time I checked, I was born on October 21, 2007. That makes me about 13 ¾ years old, and almost 14! This means that I am in line with the age limit for this app, so there should be no problems with me having it! Moreover, I am mentally exceeding this company’s expectations as well. I am more than mature enough to acquire Snapchat. I have shown this by always working hard on my school work and always keeping my room clean, but most of all by being a good babysitter. If I can successfully take care of someone else's child for multiple hours at a time, then certainly I am mature enough to handle this app.

Everyone and their grandpa have it. In conclusion, I should obtain Snapchat because it's the number one way of communication, I am old and mature enough to handle it, and it will better help me socialize.
