Argumentative Essay Sample: Americans Should Not Be Required to Vote

Americans should not be required to vote because of these three reasons: if we vote, we can have good presidents but if we are forced some people will vote randomly. Next reason is that it is important that it is a right for us to vote or not. Last reason is that it is optional . In my essay, there will be three reasons why we should vote: we vote for ‘’good’’presidents, it is a right for us, and we created the right to vote so we should vote.                                                        

First, we should vote for president because it helps us get a ‘‘good’’ president. If we vote, it helps us get rights by getting presidents we vote for. If we don't have a vote, we won't have the voting system and we won't have a chance to change the country. We would have lost a lot of wars with not being able to vote. If we stopped voting, we wouldn't have an opportunity to have a new president every 4 years. Presidents are important for us to protect our rights and country. Some  countries have mandatory voting like Perua. Perua also has penitales for not voting, like on media posts on people who didn't vote, making fun of them, or fines, sometimes even death.  In conclusion, voting helps us or hurts us. 

Next, it is the right thing to do. You might be wondering why it is the ‘’right’’ thing to do but it helps the country and it protects us from getting bad presidents. If it is mandatory it will force people to vote and we do not need that right now, because a lot of people choose not to vote and this past election if more of us voted it might have changed the election. People who are able to vote need it to help the party you choose to support. It might not seem like it does but it helps. Use your right to vote because some people can't use their right to vote. Voting helps us in many ways. You could have a great president or you could have a bad president. It is your choice. It is time to vote, America.  

Last reason, it is a right to vote.Voting might seem hard but all you have to do is choose the president/party you support and vote. It will help so much you can't even comprehend how much your vote is valued in the election. We have the right to vote unlike some countries. Countries have different voting rights and they have mandatory voting. Would you like to have mandatory voting? Mandatory voting is terrible . It forces us to vote but we need more people to vote .We might have to if we don't start voting. So start voting, America. Countries also have penalties. Would you want that to be? There are penalties like ‘’US $30’’, That  is not a lot but if you work a  job that doesn't get paid a lot it is very hard to make money like that and if we don't vote it might happen . If we start doing this, some people will have a lot of debt. If we have penalties we would be okay, but if we do we might injure ourselves.

In conclusion, we don't need to be forced to vote, it is a right for us to decide if we vote. We should be able to work and have a job and rights but if we have to vote rights will go away and there will be penitailes and we will have to get a job that ends early so we can go vote at the polls.  It's time to decide america. Do we try mandatory voting or not?
