The self esteem rates have dropped over the past one hundred year due to the pressure young girl experience in beauty pageant. Beauty pageants where created almost a century ago in order for a prince to find the youngest yet most beautiful female to become his wife and future queen. All women would line up  be picked off one-by-one in order to narrow down his oppositions. With women being judged by men, it would then turn into an activity used years later now down grading women intelligents . Starting then women were nothing more then a object that were judged based off of her looks on the outside not what was on the inside. Female self esteem would the be damaged therefore causing the surgical industries to grow and self satisfaction to plummet for generations to come all become of one simple event that took place years ago.

The female mind is every fragile place that can easily be changed but can also have an idea or an image that is very hard to change once made. When looking at social media platforms and the way females that dressed, as a unit, one can see a pattern.  Studies have shown that there is a pattern not only in the amount of clothing females but also in how they wait them based off of confidence and self esteem levels.  If someone was to look at the women’s fashion in the 50’s and then compare then to 2010’s, they would see a huge change in the amount of clothes women. In the fifty’s, women wore long dressed with sleeves covering most of their skin. However in the 2010’s, the fashion was more low rise jeans, booty shorts, and crop tops. With this ever little to the imagination. Another thing that helps to show the confidence levels in women would again be the way men viewed women. Men often see women as an object because of the amount of clothing they have on their body and by how much of left to the imagination. When things are left to the imagination of men, they are forced to get the know the women and what the stand for before they are allowed to see what’s is there physically. Forcing men to go on dates, ask questions, and meet the person they are on the inside.  Yes, physically attraction is what catches the eye, but it’s the personality that keeps them around.

With beauty contest being created buy men years ago, they have stuck around and carry over into today Society. Causing minds to be changed, down graded, along with self esteem to be lowered and self satisfaction of ones looked of young girls to be lower.  Women naturally want to be loved and attracted to the opposite sex, however, over time women have gotten the idea that men only like me because of the way I look or I will only get attention if I’m the hottest or the skinniest. Beauty pageants do not help to. Change this idea at all. Beauty Pageant have several different categories,  the one weighting the most in the final score is the physical appearance of the contestants. The contestants are judged on how well they can prefect the ‘pageant Barbie flawless’ look. Many girls now a days are not naturally born with this and the surgical industry knows this. They have created several new procurers and surgeries to “enhance” the female figure and other features on the women’s body.  Not only have these surgeries being advertised to older women, they are also advertised to young girls. Forcing them to believe they need. These surgeries in order to look like the super models on tv. When parents do not allow their young child to get the surgeries and procedures done, they child then start to lose confidence in them selves causing them to form eating disorders. Eating disorders among young girls have grown over the last 20 years not only because they have brought awareness out eating disorders because of the beauty standards have reach a level that is extremely hard to reach when trying to maintain a heathy diet. In order to reach the new ‘ideal’ body one most lower there body fat percentage down to an unhealthy number that is only reach with surgery or by starvation.  With all of the beauty standards changing to appearance based it makes one wondered ever did it all start and. Many relate it back to pageants where females but literally put on displace for people to judge their looks no making them compete to be crown the “most beauty”.

With the pressure to be perfect all the time, self satisfaction is something many young girls never achieve.•    Self satisfaction is when one is satisfied not only in how ones looks but also how they see their self all around including their personality.Females try to find satisfaction through many different ways, some being hair extensions, fake nails, fake tans, liposuction, and intense makeup. The prices in these enhancement procedures have increased their prices because of supply and demand. The more females feel like they need them the more they can charge. With prices of the enhancement growing over time, pageants have now become not only for the most beautiful but also for those who have the money to participate. When the money runs out or they ‘retire’ from pageants they are left struggle with self identity. With pageant girls whole lives revolving around the pageant world and competing to have their bodies on displace, they become a little lost when it comes to an end. Between money, self satisfaction, self identify, the female world ran by men and their thoughts and not the confidence of the individual.

Over the last century the beauty standards have changed time and time again based on how the world see women, changing the way women see themselves. This all changed with the creation of beauty pageants forcing girls to compete for the title of “most beautiful” through changing and enhancing their physical appearance.  and creating eating disorders and never bing satisfied with themselves.  By going through with this change trying to become and. Idea beauty, they create self dissatisfaction and eating disorders.
