Leonardo DiCaprio once said “I'm not the kind of person who tries to be cool or trendy, I'm definitely an individual”. Leonardo DiCaprio has used his acting career for good. In 1998 he created the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to support organizations and initiatives dedicated to securing a sustainable future for our planet. Leonardo DiCaprio used his acting career to establish a very diverse career in the film industry and used his acting career for good. 

Leonardo DiCaprio was born on November 11, 1974 in Los Angeles, California, His parents are Irmelin and George DiCaprio. His parents divorced when he was just one years old so his mother raised him but he always kept a close bond with his father. Leonardo’s parents recognized his talent at a young age so they soon signed him to a talent agency. In 1990 he got his first role in a TV show called ParentHood, The show only lasted one season so it came to an end after only a short amount of time. Leonardo continued to act when he was younger and appeared as a guest in TV shows The New Lassie and Roseanne.

Leonardo DiCaprio soon started to transition from being in TV shows to being in movies. In 1991 Leonardo made his role in the movie Critters 3 as Josh the stepson of an evil landlord. He also starred in movies like “Growing Pains” and “The Boys Life”. DiCaprio has had a lot of achievements in his career. When Leonardo was 19 years old he received the award for Best Supporting Actor in the movie “What's Eating Gilbert Grape”. Titanic was nominated for 14 Academy Awards and was able to win 11 of those awards. In 2010 DiCaprio won the nomination for the “VHI Do Something Award” for his contribution in the field of environmental issues. Leonardo DiCaprio has won One Hundred and One awards out of Two Hundred and Fifty Two nominations. 

Leonardo DiCaprio is known for his edgy, unconventional role in TV shows and movies. In 1998 DiCaprio created the “Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation” in order to save the planet and animals, He also made the foundation to help protect the wild animals and species who inhabit the earth. The Foundation is global and each species plays an important role in the balance of the planet. In 2017 Leonardo was named the United Nations Messenger of Peace with a focus on climate change. When he accepted the position he approached the crowd saying “I feel a moral obligation to speak out at this key moment in human history, it is a moment for action. How we respond to the climate crisis in the coming years will likely determine the fate of humanity and our planet”. DiCaprio has also diversified investments among “ Beyond Meat, Hippeas, Califia Farms and others.” In 2021 Leonardo joined a food tech startup called Sustainability and Health Advisory Council of Perfect Day which created the first ever animal free ice cream with dairy.
