Can Art Change Your Life Essay Example

Many believe that art  is everywhere and should be appreciated and admired by all since they hold different perspectives of life that many might not have considered before. The idea that art can change one's life is correct. Some might not be able to appreciate, but the ones that do can transform the way they see or think about things. There are many ways the art can change someones life and there are many ways that they accomplish it. For instance books, movies and drawings are ways that art can change one’s life by changing the way we think and even live. Art is everywhere and they show humanity by expressing feelings, ideas and concepts in ways that many can understand. 

Book is a way of art, it holds perspectives and issues that many people have not considered before. Books are the way to live in someone else's shoes for a little bit, they help you understand the struggles, the feelings,and the views that someone might have. This helps us view a different perspective  to the ones we have and it helps us understand other people's lives than our own. One book that changed my life is How to Kill a Mockingbird. It showed many topics like racism and ignorance which are very controversial topics. This book made me see that racism is a major issue. Yes I have felt racism before, but I never to the level that characters from this book did and it changed the way that I saw things and it made me more aware of the struggles that some might have to deal with there day to day life. The way that books change people's perspective and change the way they go on in life is proof that art can change one's life. 

Furthermore, movies are another form of art that changes many lives. They physically show peoples struggles and emotions that maybe you have never experienced before. Movies show you emotions that maybe you never felt before. For instance in a movie the main character loses her daughter and it shows the pain and the agony of moving on without them. Many haven’t experienced that type of loss before and seeing it through movies can help people see what it’s like to loss something so precious to you and be able to sympathize with them and have a better understanding of some of the pain that they are going through. This is one of many reasons that art can change one's life by showing emotions that few understand and showing how many can overcome it so if you ever find yourself in a situation you might use the tools that the character used to overcome those challenges.

Additionally painting and drawings are a form of art that causes emotions or shows emotions which can help people understand emotions better. There was a painting that I once saw at a gallery. It was a painting of a woman going past it. You just see a woman with a blank stare. However once you stop and analyze you realize there is so much in that expression than a blank stare. I remember thinking how is it possible to show so much emotions in just one painting and talking about it with my friends I realize we all had similar ideas about the emotions it was causing but no one had the same emotions about it which makes you understand how people take things differently and how what you might not everyone can see it. This is just another example in the way that art can change people's lives by making them understand emotions and how people can show different perspectives and how it’s valid to not feel the same thing that others feel.

In other words art is a form of life. It can transform the way you go about your life by being able to understand the different perspectives and struggles that others are going through. I know not all believe that art changes the way that people live however it might be that they never had experience a book, movie or painting that changed the way they thought about something so they can understand how meaningful art can be because when you really look in the different forms art forms there is no way you can deny that art can change ones life.
