Young people are some of the most influential, hard-working people on earth. In the past few years, more issues have been brought up including gun control, LGBTQIA+ rights, women’s rights, Black Lives Matter, and climate change. The people we can count on to stand up and make a real difference are today’s youth. Anyone can make a difference, either small scale, or large scale, as long as you believe in something and are willing to speak up.
There are many ways youth can work to make a positive change in their community. First, you have to choose a topic you are passionate about, and then make a plan. Thanks to social media, getting your message across is much easier, which is why we have seen so many youth activists lately. One influential teen is Katie Eder, is encouraging other young people to speak up and ensuring that they know their voices are heard. There are many ways to make a change. One can be sharing on social media. If you see a post that aligns with what you stand for, you should share it so others can learn more. You can search up if any other young people around you are interested in the same social issue and work together to make a difference.
