These matters are usually a topic of conversation, especially when discussions are had regarding our government laws. Capitalism and communism are both political ideologies put in place to run a society. Both are considered controversial in the public eye and spark a debate within our community. The great question is asked, which one has the ability to benefit us the most?

Capitalism is one of many economic systems we have. Based on private ownership by the means of production and an operation for profit. In capitalism our government plays a secondary role. Big names and high companies are in charge of making the majority of decisions and usually have access to a large quantity of property. This Democracy benefits the rich or people who fall higher in the class system, however has a highly negative impact on families receiving a lower income.

The structure of a capitalist society affects us in both negative and positive ways. Certain central characteristics of capitalism include price system, private property, competitive markets, capital accumulation, voluntary exchange, the recognition of property rights and wage labour matters. Unfortunately under a capitalist society specific occurrences such as individuals being exploited are fairly common. Exploitation is where someone is taken advantage of or treated poorly in order to benefit from their work, if someone is being forced to make goods and suppliers while not being paid enough money for their work, would be considered exploitation. The fast fashion industry also consists of exploitation. Child labour, slavery and unreasonable or unreliable soucres are just a few dismissive measures fast fashion holds.

Communism is another political and economic ideology system we use to run certain civilisations. Inside communism the main concern is to eliminate any form of class system. To create a classless society, major means of production such as factory businesses are owned by the public. Within a communist society the wealth is divided among citizens in an equal manner or conforming to an individual need.

Communism is designed to make it much more accessible for an individual to provide for their family as the money is equally distributed. Opposite to capitalism, communism allows people who earn a lower income an opportunity to live in a healthy home and environment. However on the down side, certain laws in a communist society can also affect our economy in a negative way too.

The most prominent effect under communism is the lack of freedom or civil rights. Examples of this include not having the ability to express gender identity or sexual orientation, as well as religion and culture being restricted by other members in the civilisation. Sometimes a communist society can also lead to dictatorship on the government's behalf. This matter may deprive the country of free speech completely.

Ultimately both a capitalist and communist society both express advantages and disadvantages. It is important for us to keep an open mind and educate ourselves on the issues regarding the space and environment that we live within. Let's take into consideration other situations people may be living with and try to make this world a better place for us all to enjoy.
