China's Role And Contribution To The Global Economy Argumentative Essay

With inventions from ice-cream to paper, China has grown from a primitive world to a major power. A focus on family and health has made it a society of human focus and comfort. China is the most populated country on Earth. It has very little political freedom, but it is home to many touristy landmarks such as the Great Wall. The fantastical tales of the past, lively culture of the present, and constant political progression that seems like something of the future, has made the country of China an influence on other countries all over the world.

First, China is filled with vibrant geography, violent political events, and lively holidays. Because the geography of China is so diverse, it can be split into two parts. The southeastern tropical climate with a lot of rain, and the north with hot and dry weather home to the Gobi Desert (“China”). They also have beautiful and helpful landscapes, “Natural barriers- Pacific Ocean, steppes (grass lands), and mountain ranges- formed its borders and surrounded it on almost all sides” (“China”). Although the landscape is pretty, the fighting is not, “In the Boxer Rebellion China in bands, killing Europeans and Americans and destroying buildings by foreigners” (Boxer Rebellion.) With conflict comes origin and change; China originally had dynasties which were families who ruled over long periods of time (“Ancient China For Kids: Dynasties”). Chinese culture is unique for its vibrant tales of the past, “The Chinese New Year is celebrated annually by Chinese communities throughout the world. The fifteen-day festival begins with the new moon and ends with the full moon” (“China”). This whole celebration started with a story passed down from generations, “The mythical beast Nian would break into the homes and eat the villagers, especially children…the villagers learned that Nian feared loud noises and the color red” (“China”).

Second, modern day China entails government, economy, and climate. China rules with an iron fist over their citizens, “Eighteen months after the Chinese communist government banned Falun Gong (a cult that promotes good health and citizenship), five members… publicly doused themselves with gasoline, then lit themselves on fire” (“Five Members of Falun Gong Set Themselves on Fire in Tiananmen Square to Protest Chinese Government Suppression of the Spiritual Group”). This is a result of Chinas strict communist rule allowing no political freedom(“China”). The currency in China is the Yuan (“China”).  China is one of the head producers in a lot of popular foods, “China is a leading producer of Soybeans selling 35 million tons by July 30,2020” (“China”). Although the beauty of the streets is breathtaking, the storms are deadly. Storms are so violent in Beijing 27 people died in just another Chinese deadly rainfall (“Green 8”). There isn’t just rain though, “China is affected by Monsoon winds, which change direction regularly twice a year” (“Green 8”).  These terrible weather events keep the country of China constantly on edge. 

Finally, with a culture as diverse as Chinas there are many interesting facts that many people don't know about.  Many American actors that are world renowned came from China. Bruce Lee, a martial arts movie star that was in many cult classics, was a Chinese American that brought the art of Jeet Kune Do to America (“Bruce Lee”). There are also many strange laws and rules that can be very harmful for many people in China. “China’s preference for boys and strict controls on the number of births have combined to create a climate in which Children are sometime seized” (“Chinese parents decry child-quota law”) This was made in response to Children being taken from their homes if there was more than one child. This terrible action has led to mass fear and has been shut down since. China wasn’t always as progressive as it is now. In the 20th century China had a full reformation (“China”).

In conclusion the fantastical celebrations of the past, lively literature of the present, and dazzling film scene that seems like something of the future, has made the country of China a world power controlling countries all over the world. From thousands of years ago to now China is a land of change and progress. With its famous actors and incredible landmarks, there’s always movement in its socialist modern regime. Not only are the sights beautiful, but the food is flavorful and wonderfully potent. The overwhelming home feeling that makes China a place to settle down for over 1 billion people is filled with culture and life.
