Performing in school districts should be optional because it is important to not force students to do anything and put too much pressure on them. Pressuring your child too much can hurt their self-esteem. An anonymous survey from a national survey shows that most students' feelings about high school are negative. Stressed with so much coursework, students still have to participate in community centers in their extra time. Students are despondent about their work. The constant stress of having to perform interferes with children's identity formation and causes them to feel inadequate—or even that they will never be adequate.
