On average, around 100 million Americans take vacations each year. Vacations are a way to escape from life at home. People enjoy going to different locations on vacation. Vacations can be divided into three main categories: mountains, ocean, and city.
For vacation, some visitors enjoy staying in the mountains. The mountains provide a very peaceful and calm scenery. The scenery includes mountains, trees, and lakes. The mountains also provide wildlife such as bears, deer, elk, moose, buffalo, and many more animals. The mountains provide many outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain climbing, fishing, and ATV riding. For this reason, many outdoor-loving people enjoy visiting the mountains and seeing the huge variety of hiking trails provided. The mountains also allow one to cozy up in a warm, fluffy blanket and watch the wildlife out the windows. The variety of activities allows everyone to enjoy staying in the mountains. Many vacationers adore staying in the city. The city furnishes an active scenery, created from the immense buildings, extensive amounts of people, and busy traffic. The city has very little wildlife; the wildlife is limited to pigeons, mice, and squirrels. The small wildlife is caused by the population and lack of habitats. The city provides activities such as shopping, visiting museums, watching street performers, and Broadway shows. An activity provided only by the city is street performers; this includes mimes, people dressed up as celebrities, actors, and upcoming singers. People can also walk around the city and explore all the amazing scenery and shops available. Many cities have outdoor strip malls; this is where people can look at all the unique shops and their products. The city provides housing such as soaring apartments and enormous hotels.
