Comparative Essay Sample: Chivalry In The Middle Ages vs. Chivalry Today

Chivalry today vs. Middle Ages differs greatly. During the Middle Ages, we got tales and hero’s and we hear about great men and women. It is important to compare chivalry today vs. the middle ages because we need to acknowledge how much chivalry is dead nowadays. I am telling you this because we need to revive chivalry.

Loyalty today is like air, very important but u think nothing of it. They say loyalty is very important, so it should be standard correct? Then why does no one show loyalty anymore compared to the Middle Ages where there was nobility and the guys defend the lady. During the Middle Ages, it was almost unheard of that someone had cheated but today it's common. Loyalty differs greatly thought the years, slowly but surely loyalty is becoming something of the past.

The word “justice” can mean many things, back then justice meant “seeking what is right without personal bias or prejudice”.  Nowadays no one seeks justice because they want something to gain from it. During the Middle Ages, they had Prowess and wanted justice for others and not as much for themselves. Why did the times change so drastically? 

Because of prowess, the Middle Ages were filled with tall tales and fables of heroes. Middle age prowess created hero’s but is there prowess in today's society? It’s believed chivalry is dead because a lot of men/women do things for personal gain. It is rare to find someone noble nowadays because when someone wants to better themselves we see it as vain. Distinguishing nobility and vanity are confusing nowadays. Do we acknowledge someone is bettering themselves for their own or someone else’s game?

To summarize, we need to revive chivalry to what it was in the Middle Ages. Loyalty has become less important than it used to. Justice has become something to gain from so a lot of people have stoped it compared to the Middle Ages where they served justice. And lastly distinguishing nobility and vanity is hard now days.
