Have you ever wondered why older adults think and act like a baby? I guess that you have not. When an individual becomes old age, people around them treat them like babies. Senior adults need caregiving and family attention just like a baby. “Between age 80 and 90 years old more than half of older adults receive a family caregiver’s help because of health problems.” Babies and elderly adults have many differences, but they also have remarkable similarities in how they are rude, ignorant, and don’t have the ability to perform daily activities.

As a human being, the ability to perform daily activities is essential. Selfcare such as eating and taking a bath is mandatory. When an older person turns old, his mind and body will also become weak to the point where they need care, support, and attention. For instance, feeding themselves might become exceedingly difficult. So, their children or grandchildren may be required to take the responsibility of providing for them. At the same time, treating them with dignity and respect. Similarly, when it comes to babies, babies depend on their parent's support, like feeding them. On the contrary, while babies are developing and improving their skills by feeding themselves, an older person is not developing these skills but losing them.

Older men and women can sometimes be obscene. Every one of us has our hypothesis toward why old folks can behave disrespectfully. Some people may conclude that it is because they are miserable. Older people sometimes may not intend to be rude. Age-related in brain function may explain their lack of self-control. According to a study that was published by neuropsychiatric in 2014. On the other hand, babies can also be rude and disrespectful when they want to. Babies can act this way to explain their pain and frustration.

Another similarity between both babies and older adults is being ignorant. Many senior citizens can be unreasonable. For example, when I was working at Villa Maria Retirement Home Community. This one guy was extraordinarily ignorant, and not only was he ignorant, but he was also proud to be one. Most often, he would mention how stupid everyone was, and he was the wise one. Some culture values age very highly because it is associated with wisdom. Children can be proud to be ignorant. Just because they are ignoring you, it does not mean that they are acting up.

In the final analysis, even though babies and elderly adults have many differences, they also have a remarkable similarity in rudeness, ignorant, and lacking in doing their daily activities. Both old adult and babies make embarrassing scenes and depend on others for everything Let's treat our elderly with respect and dignity.
