Batman Begins and Dark Knight are two great superhero films. Their plots would make any viewer look deep into themselves and identify the actual characters in the real world. The two movies address some aspects that people encounter in their daily interactions and various issues or matters in political and social settings. Despite the different themes they have, these movies depict the evolution of Batman and demonstrate some of the intense adventures that crown him as the mysterious hero. Therefore, this essay will analyze these two movies based on three key elements: plot, costumes, and theme to identify similarities or differences.

The two movies differ in their plot. Batman Begins’ plot focuses on psychology and the origins behind the character, Batman. The plot explores how Batman coped with various struggles and challenges he encountered. As much as the course of the narration was changed with the death of Martha Wayne and Thomas, an emotional change was formed, and it gave rise to other struggles that continued to unfold in the rest of the movie. However, the Dark Knight's plot was different, and its plot portrayed Batman as a character with limits, and Gotham was struggling to have a different hero. At the same time, in Batman Begins, Batman was already the hero and was not entitled to any limits.

The main themes in these movies also differ. Gotham in Batman Begins addressed social themes; however, he did not directly or indirectly comment on society. Whereas the Dark Knight concentrated on the day-to-day mechanics of power and demonstrated a political element, a gap between the lower and upper-class people. This difference culminated in a clash in the social classes and caused a shift from politics; however, there was no shift of politics in the Batman Begins. The suits used in both movies were also different. For instance, the suit used in Batman Begins was much more like the suit being used in comic books, while the suit used in the Dark Knight depicted a real-world concept of Batman as the character in the movie. The suits in the Dark Knight appeared to be more flexible to fight in, while the ones in the Batman Begins were inflexible.

As much as the two movies differed on plot and themes, their settings were similar. Both their settings appeared to be minimalistic. This allows any viewer to pay attention to the events unfolding. For instance, interior design was naturalistic and portrayed the setting well. The lighting used in the scenes of these movies were from the lamps and ceiling lights. When Batman entered the room, his facial expressions could easily be seen by the viewers. Establishing a suitable setting in both movies helps viewers determine the relationship between Joker and Batman and lets viewers know who the most potent or dominant character in the film is.

The Dark Knight would be a better movie because it has focused on power mechanics and has also ramped up political elements. Politics are common issues that face people in different settings; because of the political component, there has been division witnessed in the social stratification in society. A gap exists between the upper-class people and the lower-class people. As a result of disparity in the people's social class stratification, a clash has drawn attention from politics. Most countries have continued to be corrupt, and the lower class is at the receiving end of the political element that has always created division. Watching Dark Knight Movie would make any viewer look deep in themselves and identify the actual sides of various events happening in the real world. This movie would always be one of the most astounding movies addressing realism to the people's natural world.

Hopefully this essay helped shine some light on these two movies' differences and similarities. I highly encourage everyone to take time and watch Batman Begins and the Dark Knight. They’re definitely two of my favorite films.
