Compare and Contrast Essay: Movie Theater vs. At Home Movie

Most people would rather stay home and watch different streaming apps. Nowadays

everyone has either Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming services. Though some people still enjoy going to see a movie at a movie theater due to the worlds current crisis multiple people would rather enjoy watching movies in the comfort of their own home. I think going to the movies is better than watching at home. There is always a competition when discussing going to the movie theater and staying home and going to the movie theater would provide a person with a better experience, better surround sound systems, and a better television screen to watch the movie on.

There is a big price difference between going to the movie theater and staying at home. Streaming services are less expensive eventually. Streaming services such as Netflix and or Hulu have monthly plans, which range from $7.99 to $15.99 a month. Streaming services supply many different movies for that set monthly price. The movie theater is more financially burdening. The movie theater will cost anywhere from $10.99 to $30.00 at a time. The movie theater only supplies one movie at a time. In the end there is always an extra price because of internet connection at home, and when going to the movie theater, the movie will continue to play with or without an internet connection.

The experiences are vastly different at the movie theater versus being at home. While at the movie theater, luxury seats are provided, but only newly renovated, modern movie theaters can supply luxury seating. These luxury seats are not always the most comfortable. The seats cannot recline all the way back, and sometimes it gets cold in the movie theater. While at home, one can stay in bed or move to the couch. Watching a movie at home will allow for a more comfortable experience. There are blankets and covers provided at home that would not be provided at the movie theater. There is also a difference between being able to pause or rewind the movie when at home versus the movie theater. While at home, one can rewind and pause the movie, so nothing is missed. At the movie theater if one must go to the bathroom or make a phone call, the movie will not be paused for that one person.

Lastly, the snacks are one of the most important parts to watching a movie. At many modern movie theaters, a variety of snacks are provided. The snack bar supplies popcorn, pretzels, candy, hotdogs, and many more items. The only problem is that these snacks can be expensive. While at home, one can buy anything they want to eat. The snacks can turn into family meals, which would supply more food. The snacks at home will most likely be less expensive depending on what is chosen to eat.

In conclusion, some people may say that going to the movies Is expensive and would rather take their chances with streaming apps. Others may want to go out and get away from home and enjoy superior quality movies. So, when deciding on either going out to the movies or staying home it’s kind of a standstill. If people have more money and time, and they enjoy fashion, they can go to the movies instead of watching them at home. On the other hand, if you prefer old films and don't have much free time, you can watch them at home. I think I'd like to stay home and watch a good movie.
