Creative Writing Example: A Trip to the Hospital

On the afternoon of may 4th 2012 Ava and her 2 older brothers hunter and ben were getting ready to go to their parents rental house. Ben and Hunter are Ava's older brothers that had to go with to watch her because she was only 4 years old and they were 11 and 12. They were packing up the truck to go to the farm when their dog started to bark at them for some reason. But he was just barking at them because he wanted to go with them. The family loaded all the stuff they needed in the back of the truck and got the dog, and left the house to go to the rental house. When they got to the rental house they got out and unloaded everything and put it on the patio in front of the house. Once they had everything unloaded the kids met up with Haley and Tyler who were the tenants'  kids. Ava and Tyler were the same age and they ran off and started playing in the yard and while they were playing in the yard Haley, Ben, and Hunter were sitting out on the patio watching Ava and Tyler play. They made up a lot of games to play like house, and also played games like tag and hide and seek. After they got bored of playing fun games in the yard, they went and played in the tree house until their parents had to start cutting some of the limbs off the tree. Once their parents had to start cutting limbs off the tree all 5 of the kids went inside and up the stairs to the game room and watched some spongebob for about an hour. After that they went down stairs and looked around in the kitchen for some snacks. They ended up finding come cheez its and some blue kool aid. They took their snacks and went outside to enjoy their snacks. Once they finished their snacks they talked about what they wanted to do while they waited for their parents to finish cutting limbs off of the tree. They all decided to play soccer but they had to find the ball. All 5 of the kids walked around the house and down the hill to the garage to look for the soccer ball. They looked around for the ball in the garage for 20 minutes and they didn't find it. So they went up the stairs into the kitchen then up another set of stairs into tylers room to look for the ball. After a few minutes of looking they found the ball in Tyler's closet. They all went back outside to play soccer in the yard. After a little bit they switched goalies and played for about another hour. After about 2 hours of playing soccer in the yard they got bored of playing so they decided to play soccer on the trampoline. They were playing soccer on the trampoline and tyler would keep purposely kicking the ball off of the trampoline. After he did that probably ten times Ben got really angry and started to yell at tyler. That made Haley angry so she started yelling at Ben and this just started to cause a big argument. After they stopped arguing they started to play soccer again. Haley accidentally kicked the ball over the net of the trampoline Ben went to get the ball but he left the net unzipped. Ben threw the ball back on to the trampoline and the ball was going to hit ava in the head so Hunter jumped in front of her to catch the ball so it wouldn't hit her. But she fell out the door of the trampoline backwards. When ava went out the net backwards she hit the side of the trampoline then the metal stool and then a tree. When she fell she hurt her shoulder and her head really hard. Hunter ran out of the trampoline as fast as he could, he helped her stand up and walk to their parents who were cutting down part of a tree. When Ava stood up she said that she was really dizzy and couldn't see straight and that her shoulders hurt really bad. Their mom and Ava got in the truck to go to the closest hospital which was 15 minutes away but, first they had to go back to their house to get Ava's blanket before they went to the emergency room. Once they got to the emergence room they went in and got seen by an ER doctor. They gave ava some pain meds and sent her to get an x-ray. After her x-ray the doctor found out that Ava had broken both of her collar bones and would need surgery. They also found out that Ava had also gotten a severe concussion. Because she had a really bad concussion they would not be able to do surgery right away, and recommended that she see a specialist. They planned an appointment for a few weeks later with a specialist. After they talked to the doctor they had to stay in the hospital overnight and went home the next day.
