Where do we go from here? There are a lot of things I could talk about but these two things stand out the most. The first one is animal endearment and animal testing. Animal endearment has been going on for a long time, it has been a big issue and there are so many ways we can fix it. Humans are responsible for 99% of endangered species. Over 12% of bird species are under extreme threat and close to extinction. Animals are going extinct between 1000 to 10,000 times faster than the normal rate. Species become endangered for 2 main reasons, loss of habitat and loss of genetic variation. A loss of habitat can happen naturally, human activity can also contribute to a loss of a habitat. Human activity is by far the biggest cause of habitat loss. The loss of wetlands, plains, lakes and other natural environments all destroy or degrade habitat, as do other human activities such as introducing invasive species, polluting, trading in wildlife, and engaging in wars. How we can help is, Reusing items in your household when you can, and buying products that produce less packaging waste. By purchasing second-hand furniture, clothes, electronics, and toys, you help reduce the energy consumption required to make new ones and produce less waste as well. Choose reusable bottles for beverages whenever you can. Use a reusable bag for your groceries, and carry your own container to the restaurant for the leftovers.

Animal testing is another big thing, what is animal testing? Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, animal research, and in vivo testing, is the use of non-human animals in experiments that seek to control the variables that affect the behavior or biological system under study. Millions of animals suffer and die in testing, training, and other experiments. More than 100 million animals suffer and die in the U.S. every year in cruel chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics tests as well as in medical training exercises and curiosity-driven medical experiments at universities. Only 3 percent of animals survive lab experiments. Then we ask this question again: where do we go from here? We can stop this together if we always buy cruelty-free products, educate others, and speak up! The next thing I would like to talk about is animal shelter cruelty. Normally you put your pet in an animal shelter because you think it is a better opinion for them, in most cases, it's not. Typically, the holding period runs from 5 to 7 days. However, it can be as short as 48 hours to 72 hours in some cases. After 72 hours and the shelter is full, it will be destroyed.

If the shelter isn't full and your dog is good enough, and of a desirable enough breed, it may get a stay of execution, though not for long. Even the sweetest dogs will turn in this environment. According to a study from the Best Friends Animal Society. The organization said California shelters took in 715,000 cats and dogs. Of those, 111,000 were killed. America, where can we go from here? The only place we can go is up! We can fix these problems and make the world a better place.
