Overcoming my daily mental health struggles was a challenging experience in my life. Anxiety is a sensation of concern, nervousness, or unease, usually about an upcoming event or anything with an uncertain consequence. Depression is a feeling of extreme sadness and dejection. Unfortunately my mental health has been an issue for me since I was nine years old. My mental health had a significant impact on how I focused and completed my tasks. My grades plummeted, and there was a lot more that occurred. I didn't want to go to school, or even leave the house, and at times my own room. Thankfully by the time I was set to finish middle school I was improving.

I was not getting the most desirable grades, but I was in a good place. Then the pandemic struck my freshman year, and I began to slip downward. My aunt died of cancer in April of that year, and it hit me hard. The only person I could genuinely talk to about things was my best friend and Unfortunately, she moved, after she moved I felt utterly alone. My mental health had only deteriorated since the start of my high school career; unfortunately, the coronavirus struck hard, and as a result, I missed the majority of my tenth grade year, putting a damper on my efforts to succeed. Just as I was beginning to feel better, we received more devastating news: my uncle had died. Shortly after that, my grandfather died after undergoing heart surgery since his health had deteriorated following the death of my aunt.

The pandemic also increased my anxiety, making it impossible to make phone calls, order food, and even talk to people at school. This may have been a struggle for my sanity, but I always had a dog next to me. Because they gave me  a lot of love at the time. They shed light in the dark and guided us through this time. With the light they receive, I will continue to strive to prosper in this dark age. I had a lot of trouble while I was in private school. In summary, what I have learned from this experience is that no matter what happens in your life, you will overcome it and as a result you will be a better person. Even if you think it won't improve, it will. It can take months or  years, but  don't give up as it will improve.
