This is important to society because we get to learn from people and change our opinions about topics. We can read topics from the past and make our own opinions and thoughts about the topic. An example of making our own decisions by collecting facts and persuasion is voting. We gather all of the information that is presented from the debates to the press conferences and we get to make a decision about who we think is right for the job. Another example of society getting to make decisions is choosing what college major to pursue. People in society make up their minds to become a doctor, nurse, fire fighter, and ect. We decide what we want to be when we grow up by what we see on tv or what we see in real life. People don´t judge their life decisions by what their friends want to be in the future. I think that getting a choice in life is the most important thing to do because you get a choice and a voice. People in society try to persuade others to choose their side of the story and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but we get the choice to decide that.
