Replacing the presentation assessment from the 2015 syllabus and constituting 33% of the overall Theory of Knowledge (TOK) score, the TOK exhibition is the new assessment for the 2022 syllabus. Unlike the previous assessment method (TOK presentation) which revolved around presenting   work based on a specific real life situation and a knowledge question as framework ,furthermore, could be performed in groups of 3 , pairs or individually, the TOK exhibition is an internally assessed , strictly individual task that entails the exploration of a selected 1 of 35 Internal Assessment (IA) prompts, each dealing with a different aspect of knowledge, in the context of a chosen core or optional theme with the aid of any 3 real world objects(or images of objects), to act as a bridge between the preferred prompt and theme. Accompanied by commentary with a total word count of 950 (exclusive of references) used to elaborate on the choice of objects as well as linking the objects to the investigated IA prompt. The goal of the TOK exhibition is to portray how TOK manifests in the world around us, this can be achieved by meeting 4 assessment targets. Clearly identifying the objects and their real-life context, provide a well explained link to the selected IA prompt as well strong justification for the choice of objects and support for every point raised with relevant evidence.

The TOK exhibition presents IBDP students with an opportunity to display their newfound knowledge and skills to the world and pursue their personal interests. This forms an excellent synergy with the International Bachelorette Diploma Program (IBDP) learners’ profile. Through the TOK exhibition, students of the IBDP are encouraged to flaunt and grow their ability to inquire, communicate, risk take and think (among other character traits that the ideal IB student possesses). The exhibition encourages learners to venture into the unknown and open their minds and hearts to ideas they have never seen before, evidently, increasing their knowledge base which leads us back to learners profile trait of being knowledgeable. TOK exhibitions are generally public events which means others are exposed to your research, this Is why the communication and inquiry skills that have been cultivated by the learner are crucial. For the learner to be able to accurately convey their point on a subject as well as broadening the view of others on certain aspects in addition to enabling members of the community to change their generic way of thinking both academically and non-academically.
