Former president Barak Obama was the first black president and gave many black Americans hope. Obama was very intelligent, charismatic, personable, and very relatable to the people of the United States. Obama had a desire to aid Black Americans in education, housing, and incarceration to help rebuild the black community. Of course, blacks were once slaves and then freed but not fully freed as in racism or having basic rights. Many black leaders fought for black Americans to have rights such as the right to vote, to end segregation in schools for children, and being able to be free. The Civil Rights Movement sparked a change in the south and wanted other Americans to know that black Americans wanted change. The Civil Rights Movement had powerful moments that are still taught in American history and across the globe. With President Obama being black and in office was the change the American people needed.

Obama is remembered today for his outstanding work as a president. There were obstacles he faced such as his citizenship status, his race, and if he was really equipped to be president. Obama came from Chicago and worked hard in achieving his accomplishments.   Obama came into office while during a rough time for Americans. During his presidency Obama met many faces of the civil rights movements had to fix a depression in the year of 2008. Many black Americans wanted him to reinvent the black community across the globe and Obama understood. He became really close with black leaders, celebrities, and activist who entailed critical opportunities for blacks. Obama helped append the black community voice during his term and currently.

 Being that Obama was black and many black Americans knew his presidency would be apart of history. There were many leaders and movements that came about before his term, and he made sure to let it be known. The Civil Rights Movement was a movement that fought for justice and education throughout the black community. The civil rights movement included many peaceful protests that would turn violent and make headlines throughout the United States. Most people know Martin Luther King Junior as the face of the movement but there were so many other activists who used their voices. Even though Obama used his presidency to restore the black community the Civil Rights Movement did a huge amount of work. The black community is still using the important messages that were given during that time.

Obama and the Civil Rights Movement may seem very far apart in years they were very close in knowledge. Obama and the movement both wanted equality and justice for blacks and were faced with major challenges. It is important to know that Obama and The Civil Rights Movement will be apart of history forever. The black community is becoming stronger by each generation and wanting more changes to be made.
