Women have been oppressed for centuries and it is still going on today, which is unacceptable. As simple as it sounds, women have the right to do what they want with their bodies. Because abortion is a right, legislators need to provide abortion processes to all women without any unnecessary discrimination.

As this directly affects me as a woman, I am even more passionate about this topic because, simply put, my body, my choice. Countless others, with the majority being men, often shame women for pursuing an abortion, and I strongly believe that it shouldn't have to be that way. Abortions are a branch of women's health care, and no other health process is shamed the way abortions are, which is unfair and upsetting. Additionally, as a woman, I am watching legislators take away my rights, which concerns yet infuriates me. Although I do not engage with this topic daily, it is still a huge part of my life as a feminist. For instance, I go out of my way to inform people on my social media platforms and friends about the significance of this topic. Additionally, when certain protests are scheduled, I try my best to attend them to show support. Furthermore, organizations, such as Planned Parenthood and National Abortion Federation, provide these reproductive health services to women, and other organizations, such as NARAL Pro-Choice America, work to oppose the bans and restrictions on abortion. All three of these organizations do their best to ensure women have the opportunity to pursue an abortion with no unnecessary prejudice from outside voices. Without these organizations, many more women and abortion providers would likely be harmed. 

As said before, many crimes have been committed to harm women who have pursued abortions and abortion providers, including doctors. Since abortion is also a woman's right, women's rights have been denied for centuries. For instance, women were denied education, jobs, and the ability to vote until later on. Ultimately, there is a possibility of these past events to reoccur if officials continue to deny women their rights, specifically the opportunity to pursue an abortion. Moreover, abortion providers have been targeted much more than the actual women. For instance, there have been 383 death threats, 17 attempted murders, 13 wounded, etc. abortion providers since 1977. On a small note, these crimes can drive women and abortion providers to fear for their safety. However, on a larger note, these crimes can drive society apart and cause internal conflict, which is not ideal. Because of these crimes, people can start to fear each other and cause distrust.
