Over the time period from 1939-1945 over 50 million people were killed during this war and went down as the deadliest and largest war ever. As Adolf Hitler led his army into Poland for a raid but Poland had a guarantee of French and British military support. There was a signing on August 23rd and it was called the German Soviet Nonaggression Pact; this signing was an agreement to split Poland with the Western third going to Germany and the eastern two thirds being taken over by USSR. Little did they know that once this started it would turn into a really long 2,194 days. Hitler declared to be raiding POland on August 26th and that's where it all started.

On September 1, 1939 a very significant event started that would change the world forever. This day marks the first thing that started World War II; it all started when Germany Invaded Poland. Poland was ready for Germany; they had French and British military on their side for the war. Germany thought they could attack without the danger of Soviet or British intervention and ordered the start of the war on September 1, 1939. After Germany declared war Great Britain and France declared war on Germany on September 3, 1939. Then on september 17, 1939 the Soviet Union decided to attack Poland from the East side. After this the next event was Warsaw surrendered on September 27. The Polish government flees into exile. Between Germany and the Soviet union they divided Poland equally amongst themselves. After all this the next 6 years were going to lead to 45-60 million deaths about 6 million of those deaths were Jews from Hitlers concentration camps.

Just after Germany declared war many other countries saw an open chance to start a war with a country they were not too appealed with at the time. This started a whole domino effect across the world in fact there were 23 countries in the world involved in WWII. All together there were roughly 70 million people serving for their country in this war. In the war between the United States of America and Japan, Albert Einstein found out that Japan could make an Atomic bomb. On December 2, 1942, Enrico Fermi, an Italian refugee, produced the first self-sustained, controlled nuclear chain reaction in Chicago. America wanted to ensure that they would make an atomic bomb before they started the secret $2 billion Manhattan Project. American scinetists tested the first nuclear bomb on August 6, 1945 the Enola Gay, a B-29 Superfortress, released an atomic bomb over Hiroshima, Japan. This bomb caused a lot of damage killing or wounding between 80,000 to 140,000 humans. Across Germany they were not running out of resources and food until 1944 but many other countries in the war ran out of supplies and food much sooner. Germany remembered there surrendering from the first world war and since they began the second world war they were ready before it started. Many humans lost their lives throughout this 6 years of war and it was very long for every country. No country is happy they went to war but grateful for the ones who made it out alive. Everyone should be grateful for the troops that fought for your country so thank a veteran that fought in world war 2 every chance you get because you do not know what they saw and what they went through.

“After World War II, Germany was divided into Soviet, American, British and French zones of occupation. The city of Berlin, though technically part of the Soviet zone, was also split, with the Soviets taking the eastern part of the city” according to https://www.history.com. After countries were divided between other countries governments needed to decide what to do with the land of the new land. Germany's economy after the war was destroyed and it ook a long time to gain their money, resources, and structures back after the war. By 1989 the Berlin wall had fallen over and Germany was once again reunited. Germany had the third biggest economy following Japan and The United States of America according to the countries GDP.

World War 2 was the biggest and bloodiest war in the world so far and we hope that we will never have to see something this gruesome in our time. 75 million total people were killed or died throughout the 6 years the war went on, 10 million soldiers and 40 million innocent civilians. Many countries did not have much money then and were attacked and are still trying to replace the destruction that was done during the war. Many families across the globe had to go home without a loved one and not able to see a loved one for many many years with the fear of them dying everyday for the 6 years the war went on. We thank every single military man and woman in America that protected our country through the war and our allies.
