Within this paper, I will be defining the following words: Honesty, Plagiarism, Integrity, and Self-Worth. I will also describe how I have implemented or failed to implement these ideas in the act that I have wrongly done. What I have done was that I was extremely stuck on two problems during Programming class and was trying to search for help, for the first one, I wrongly used the information that I had found and proceeded to implement them as though they were my own idea. After realizing that was the wrong choice, I should have had the integrity to admit what I had done and then correct it at the moment. For the second assignment, I had looked up help as well, but after reading it, I did my best not to end up implementing what I had found in my search, but ended up actually using the information that I had found and that was idiotic of me. Looking back on what I have done, I should have confessed what I had done at the time that I did it and been honest, and then redone the assignment then, but instead I had thought that it was too late.

Honesty means “the act of being honest”, which honest means “free of deceit and untruthfulness; sincere”. Within this act of Plagiarism, I was being dishonest in a couple of different ways. I was being dishonest in doing the act in the first place and in not admitting that I had done it as soon as I had realized that I had. As well as in not realizing that I didhad done it a second time, when I was trying to avoid it a second time. In the future, I will be sure to not do anything even remotely similar to what I did this time. I will also be very cautious in what I am doing, and if I realize that I am doing something wrong, like I did this time, I will be sure to tell someone that I did it right as I realize it.

Plagiarism means “the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own”. Within this act, I performed an act of plagiarism in that I used someone else’s code to help myself but ended up using someone else’s code completely when I should have just asked for help.

Integrity means “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness”. Within this, I didn’t have integrity in that I wasn’t being honest with what I did and when I had realized that what I had done was wrong. Within this act, I should have had integrity within this act in that I should have told someone what I did and then fixed it before it escalated so far.

Self-worth means “a sense of one's own value as a human being”. Within this act, I lost sense of my Self-Worth because I should have held myself to higher standards in that I should have owned up to what I did immediately instead of waiting until I got caught. I also should have held myself to higher standards in that I should have just asked for help in the first place instead of cheating and not owning up to it.
