Mental illness is terrifying because you feel like you've lost control of your mind and nothing makes sense. It's like watching yourself on autopilot and having no control and the people in your life have no clue. Mental illness is an overwhelming problem that causes personal distress in many people's everyday lives.
The facts are clear that many people do not know much about living with mental illness such as Depression and Anxiety. For example, people with depression feel like they're forcibly trying to laugh at a joke that isn’t funny. Trying to smile for a photo, that they don’t want to be in. It’s like waking up in the morning and hating that you actually woke up. It inevitably feels like someone is draining the energy out of you every time you're awake. Depression is living day-by-day, not knowing what you're going to do with yourself, that day, not knowing if you want to be alive tomorrow. “Depression can impact every area of your life, including but not limited to how you sleep and eat, your education and career, your relationships, health, and concentration. Individuals suffering from depression often also have comorbid disorders, such as alcohol and drug abuse or other addictions”(Cite Here). Additionally, Anxiety is another mental illness that many people go through each day, causing them to feel like a small task to others is a huge task for them. Making a phone call, speaking up in a meeting, it’s all so hard. People with anxiety sometimes get panic attacks, their heart begins to race, their chest becomes tight, thoughts begin to speed up and jumble together, they begin to shake, and they start to cry. “Racing thoughts, rumination, and overthinking possibilities -- from social interactions to decision-making -- are central to anxiety. In addition, people with anxiety often struggle with insomnia or sleeplessness and physical symptoms such as a racing heart, sweaty palms, and headaches”(Cite Here). Mental Illness causes people to struggle with their day-to-day life.
In addition, very many people have misconceptions about mental illness. Many people think that children with mental illness are results of bad parenting this may be true for some, but not all children’s mental illness is caused by bad parenting.”While a child’s home environment and relationships with his parents can exacerbate a Mental disorder, these things don’t cause the disorder. Things like anxiety, depression, autism, and learning disorders are thought to have biological causes. Parenting isn’t to blame. But parents play a central role by providing support and care that is crucial to their child’s recovery. (Cite Here)”In addition, a vast majority of people think that others are faking their mental illness or doing it for attention and just because you can't see a mental illness doesn’t mean someone doesn’t have a mental illness. “No one would choose to have a mental illness, just as no one would choose to have a physical illness. The causes for mental health conditions are intensively studied and they are real. For anyone living with a mental health condition, their specific symptoms may not always be visible to an untrained observer. It can be challenging to relate to what people with mental health conditions are going through, but that doesn’t mean that their condition isn’t real.”(Cite Here) Mental illness isn’t something you should make assumptions about.
To end off, therapy is a way some people with mental illness cope; they tend to talk about how their life is going at that point in time. “Psychotherapy explores thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and seeks to improve an individual’s well-being.” Some forms of therapy may work for others but might not work for you so you find the one that best fits you. Furthermore, Medication is always an option none of the therapy works but some medication is given along with therapy.

Teams of medical professionals will need to work together to provide integrated and simultaneous treatment.
