Night is a autobiographical book that was made by Eli Weisel and it is about the Holocaust between 1941 and 1945. The Holocuast was a genoicide of European Jews during World War 2. While this is occuring in the book Night there is a survivor who wrote the book which is Eliezer Weisel who is the author in the book but he uses a different name to write the story of himself. He is the main protagonist including his father, they both go on death trains to know their doom since they are Jews.

During this time Hitler was in power and ordered to exterminate all jews since Hilter believed they lost power because of the jews during World War One. The main conflict of this book is about Eli’s faith in Jerusalem. In the beginning of the book his faith with God is absolute. While in the end of the book he doesn't know if he has an idea why there is a reason to live. There are alot of symbols in this story but the main prompt was how does Weisel utilize symbols in his book. They are night, fire, and corpses in the novel. These words are important to the story since they are the main theme of this memoir.
