Have you ever been in a situation where you lie to your friend telling him or her you cannot hang out with them? Then later your friend finds out you truly did not want to spend time with him or her. Making everybody think you are a bad friend. Well, if that has happened to you, you realize telling the truth was the better option. Being honest is good in any situation because you can make better decisions, you can become a leader, and help you to build a strong relationship.

The important reason to be honest in any life situation can improve your decision making. For example, when we see an expensive product like jewelry or nice shoes, we end up buying it and telling ourselves” buying it will not hurt my pocket” we all know that is a lie then we start getting addicted to buying expensive things that we do not need. if we were honest with ourselves, we would make a better decision not to buy the expensive product which we do not need, and our pocket would not feel so dry.  According to Najma Khor rami said, “Being honest help base decision on fact rather having to base decision all the previous times you were dishonest.’’ This means that we're honest with the decision you make, you can tell if the decision is based on fact just like if we made the decision not to buy the expensive items, we would see the facts behind it.

Furthermore. when you are honest with yourself and the people other you can become a leader for people around you and yourself. For instance, your boss wants someone to take over the business he or she will look for a great leader by looking if you're honest with yourself and with others. Base on the evidence this means that honesty can convince people to trust you and get people respect which then they can see the leadership in you.

Finally, being honest helps you to build a strong relationship whether your friends, family, or the people at your job. For example, a mother lies to her child that the hamster died but, she sold the hamster five years later the child finds out she was lying to him or her then the child would start thinking every word that comes out of his or her mother mouth is a lie.  This example means the child develops a not-so-strong relationship with the mother. If the mother were honest with the child there would be a strong relationship. According to Kelly Gonsalves “honesty is the foundation of trust in any relationship when you’re honest with someone, it tells them that they can trust you and the things you say to them makes them believe you.” What this means is that once’s your honesty with people it brings out the importance of building a strong relationship with that person with who you gain trust.

To summarize being honest is a great tool in any situation you come across in your life which you can build a relationship with people which you will end up gaining their trust.   Honesty gives you the ability to become a great decision maker to order to see the reason behind your decisions and honesty helps you to become a leader by being honest with yourself and other people will then see true leadership in you and towards others.  These three reasons why you should be honest in any situation.
