Lululemon has received an “A+” overall on the Ethical Fashion Guide. They have scored an “A” in the “Environmental Sustainability” category. By 2030, Lululemon hopes to lower greenhouse gas emissions by 60% that is generated by its operations and supply chain, although there is no evidence to show that they are no track to meet this target. There is no indication that it has taken effective steps to reduce or remove dangerous chemicals, nor does it have sufficient water policies or strategies. On their website, Lululemon states that they are working on eliminating waste. Their fabrics account for roughly 50% of their carbon impacts. Greenhouse gas emissions from Lululemon account form 8% of total man-made glasshouse gas emissions worldwide.

Lululemon has acknowledged that the clothing industry contributes to the global waste. They do not own any private manufacturing facilities, therefore they carefully choose their vendors. They are working towards being carbon-neutral and cutting down on their emissions made in the production. Lululemon sources products and fabrics from 26 countries. 90% of Lululemon's  damaged clothes are recycled, or donated. Some of their apparel can be used as house insulation, mattresses, furniture, and cars, and even for athletic equipment. A tiny quantity of difficult-to-recycle materials are sent to a waste-to-energy facility to create power.

Lululemon has a sustainable packaging policy that states that their packaging is fully recyclable. They have switched their paper-based packaging to FSC Certified materials. These are materials that come from responsibly managed forests. The different types of packaging includes product hangtags, gift cards, boxes and more. Their products are shipped in polybags to their distribution center. The polybags also protect the clothing when shipping although they increase waste.

Lululemon has stated that they will transition over renewable energy, increasing efficiency and investing in raw material. Lululemon has committed to 100% renewable electricity for their factories by 2021 and has successfully achieved it and are currently working on reducing GHG emission by 60% across their global supply chain by 2030. Lululemon will engage more with their manufacturing partners to ensure that the process of creating clothes will become more efficient. Lululemon wants to align their goals with the Paris Climate Agreement which is to limit global warming below 2 degrees. They have also implemented a strategy to source more sustainable and raw materials and fibers, including recycled polyester and nylon. Lululemon has signed an agreement with the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action which is a worldwide initiative that works together to reduce carbon emission created by the fashion and textile sector. By 2030, Lululemon's products will be made by 100% sustainable materials. By 2050, they aim to reduce freshwater use intensity when manufacturing clothes and reduce single use plastic packaging by 50%.
