I partially agree with the statement that the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki causing to put the Pacific war to an end on August 6th 1945,The bombing would’ve prevented operation downfall, Operation downfall was a ‘proposed’ allied plan to invade Hiroshima and Nagasaki’s home islands to bring the war in pacific to a quicker end, because of this occurs c’è the bomb dropped an enormous amount of explosive yields that were equal to 15,000 tones of TNT, burnt 70% of Hiroshima’s buildings, causing for a significant impact on the soldiers and this tradjity caused for many civilians lives to losing, Not just immedient effects but also long and short term health risks and a major rise in homelessness

During mid 1945,Japan was losing the war with the pacific, Japan at the time was losing valuable resources. Japan started a campaign with a series of minor air raids, these raids soon developed into major strategic events that in the late 1940s led to a number of small bombs being ignited to cause small fires resulting in devastating attacks on 67 Japanese cities killing an estimated 500,000 people. The Japanese military refused to surrender, the soldiers were told to surrender (commit suicide) if they were captured they were trained to kill themselves for their country this resulted in around 21,000 dying and a total estimated 95,000 being captured. Historians argue that the battle between Iowajima and Okinawa being one of the bloodiest battles in the pacific.

The impact on the soldiers for operation downfall was very significant because if it didn’t happen the heroic soldiers would’ve been saved from death, however if this event did occur 5-10 million Japanese soldiers would’ve survived.

Source C ‘Thank God for the Atomic Bomb’ a WWII soldier Paul Russell describes his sentiments over war describing it as immoral and cruel. He provides as an example the killing of 123,000 soldiers just a few weeks before Hiroshima. A significant loss for both American and Japanese families.

The impact on the civilians was a very crucial point of this atomic bomb attack, Many survivors wrote about their lives before, after and during this time.

A 13-year-old boy named Yoshitaka was there at the time of the attack he explains how he was in school when the ‘A B-29’ bomb started plummeting towards the earth, he describes a bright pale lightening flash lighting up the sky for two-three seconds. No one knew what to do but in a matter of seconds smoke and sandy dust were everywhere. He crawled over the debris to find someone and to his horror found his classmate with one eye and loose flesh dangling from out of his skull.

He then ran to the Miyyuki Bridge and saw a load of heavy radioactive material floating on the stream due to the bomb, Hiroshima has about 6 and 25 roentgens of gamma radiation after the attack whereas Nagasaki had radiation levels around 30 and 110 roentgens of gamma radiation. Studies today now show that In the years that followed, many of the survivors would face leukaemia, cancer, or other terrible side effects from the radiation. However, the radiation was not the only terrible occurance that followed after the bombings, lots of homes and buildings were destroyed during the attacks, reportedly around 67% of buildings in Hiroshima were destroyed/seriously damaged and in Nagasaki 14,000 or 27% of the total of 52 thousand residences were completely destroyed,10% were only half destroyed and 12% of beloved Nagasaki was unharmed. Because of this dramatic decreases of buildings being burnt and destroyed many faced homelessness and were forced to live on the streets, [a total of around 1million people].

In conclusion the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were partially justified in droppinghe bombs.

In the short term the bombs did cause chaos and destruction to the people of japan it also caused for lots of heroic soldiers to die for their own Countries. The longer term the consequences of the attack caused radiation therefore lots of people received  severe health hazards such as cancer and for beloved buildings to be destroyed causing a massive peak in homelessness and poverty.
