Webster Dictionary defined First-degree murder as,”A murder that is committed with premeditation or during the course of a serious felony (as kidnapping) or that otherwise ( because of extreme cruelty) requires the most serious punishment under the law”

Anabelle Davis, a kind, intelligent young lady as her family would describe her had her life brutally taken from her on the night of Friday the 13th of April in 2018. She was just 15 at the time and was ready to go to a high school baseball game with the young man, Crew Bailey, from her high school. They had been talking for weeks and spending as much time as possible together while at school to the point where she would stay and watch him practice for baseball. Anabelle was head over heels for ESPN’s ranked number 2 shortstop who was destined for Major League Baseball. Crew even had a full ride to Vanderbilt University if he wasn’t drafted in the first round of the MLB draft. Crew and Anna formally met in their 7th period English 2 class. They were the favorite couple and always showed physical affection for each other.

Anabelle, or Ana as many knew her as, was the young female who might be book smart but never could pick good men but everyone thought she had it figured out when she started dating crew bailey, the pastor's son. “She had bad taste in men as she did in music, her sister, Aurora, said.” Ana always loved baseball and never left home without knowing the scores from the night before. Every Wednesday, you could always see Anabelle rocking her Atlanta Braves jersey with Dansby Swanson, her favorite player, on the back. Ana to many was a walking textbook about anything baseball. She would have everyone on the Baseball team trying to get her number because she was the only girl in the whole school that enjoyed baseball like them.

Crew Bailey, was a young male baseball player who was only known for his amazing baseball skills and no-one knew much about his personal life and he never spoke about either parent. His parents were never at the baseball games and he always needed to ride home with someone else. Sadly, one thing Crew was known for was his estranged emotions and being overdramatic.

Crew and Ana’s friends don’t always get along. Aan’s friends can be described as nerds or as people who are destined to change the world. Crew’s friends are the one’s on the baseball or football team. But, Anabelle Davis’s family has supported and encouraged Crew’s and Ana’s  relationship. They would go downtown and go to the movies or eat some dinner. One date that Ana’s family said she would always talk about was their second date.

Crew gently opened Ana’s door and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek as he slammed the car door behind him. As he kindly paid for both of their tickets to the county fair, Crew held Ana’s hand as they walked over to the sweet-smelling caramel apple stand. They sat down on the green cafeteria style seating and split the sugary apple. That was their first kiss. They both went to get a bite of caramel apple and then before Ana could stop moving forward, Crew moved the apple and her lips hit his. They continue to finish the apple and start riding the rides as the night went on and the weather got colder. On the Ferris Wheel, Crew put his baseball jacket on Ana's shoulders while she laid her head on his shoulder and kept enjoying each other's company. That night Crew told Ana that he loved her and he was head over heels for her.

Crew and Anabelle would go on dates every single Saturday for months. They even went as a couples outfit for Halloween. They would always be at different parties and different school events or sports. There was never a baseball game where you didn’t see both of them. Ana and Crew spent the weekend before Thanksgiving together making their adorable matching hoodies. Crew has never been a big fan of Thanksgiving but it was Anabelle’s favorite, so he is always supportive of Thanksgiving. I mean he did get to watch Thanksgiving Football and enjoy some great home cooked food which he didn’t get much. Ana never knew anything other than food from home and families always being around the table while Crew is the complete opposite.

Crew and Anabelle enjoyed dating each other until the honeymoon phase of their relationship ended. Anabelle didn’t try to fix the fighting and arguing while, on the other hand, crew Bailey tried everything he could to keep Ana to stay.  Anabelle Davis and Crew Bailey's first big fight was the first day of Christmas because Ana said that she was going to ride down to philipheda on a train from New York, where Crew and Ana were living at the time, to go visit her family in her home state.

Crew stormed out of Ana’s house when he heard the news. He had felt disrespected because he believed in his heart that she wasn’t going to leave New York until they started fighting and he believed that she was the one who would cause the fighting in the first place. Crew sent Ana a text that read,

“Baby ILY. I am soooo sorry for doing that. I mean u know me. I understand u you don’t want to be around me. I’m crazy. ”

Crew threw his phone across the room when he saw it had been delivered. He knew Anabelle was angry with the way he stormed out of her house in front of her family.

On the following Monday, at school. During lunch, Anabelle and Crew had their first meeting in person after their fight. Ana determined that she was still going to travel to Philadelphia but if Crew wanted to come he could. Crew took Anabelle’s Offer and schedule his time around the trip during the Christmas break.

Sadly, the fun of the trip’s excitement fairly quickly decreased on Friday when Anabelle and Crew got into an argument about Crew has a science lab project with his Ex, London Lambert, and Anabelle didn’t agree that he couldn't just ask to have a different partner.

The two didn’t get their relationship back on the tracks, instead they decided to fall off the tracks and never looked back. Three days before Ana was supposed to go back to Philadelphia for Christmas break, Ana invited Crew over to the baseball friend to speak about them and  end their relationship. Meanwhile, Crew thought it was to tell him to have his bags packed for Philadelphia and head down there earlier than expected. Their conversation went like this, “Hi” said Ana. “Hi, Baby,” said Crew. “How u been” said Ana. “Wonderful now that I am seeing you” Crew happily said.

Crew stormed off and mumbling as he went to get to grab his baseball bag out of the first baseball dugout and started heading towards his oldest sisters, Forest , black jeep. Crew couldn’t imagine his life without Anabelle in it. She had kept him to keep working through his dreams and work hard in school to be able to be eligible to play and keep his full ride to Vanderbilt University. Crew was angry and couldn’t control his emotions, which he never did, is something he would regret the rest of his life.

Let’s start from the beginning, Crew Bailey noticed himself staring at his ceiling throwing up a baseball and catching it when it would come down. He was recently broken up with just the day before and his ex-girlfriend Anabelle was heading out of town leaving him all alone for weeks until school started again because all of his friends were spending time with their families individually. Crew still remembered what time Ana’s train left for town which was 8 hours till then and he knew he had to do something. Crew was more mad at Ana for breaking up with him then he did the day previously. Crew at the time all his dreams were out of the window in his mind and there was now reason for living because he wasn’t smart enough to do anything in life and would always be living a life he didn’t want. Crew didn’t want to live but this side of Crew Baily that many didn’t see, unless it was the day his Grandpa died, didn't want to go down alone.

Crew had always dreamt of dying with Ana one their death bed together because they had always dreamed they would live in Heaven together and couldn’t live without each other.

So Crew, made a plan to make that dream come true. He had heard in the news recently that some boyfriend killed himself because his girlfriend died of cancer. He had watched way to many murder documentaries to know that if he killed he would have to have a plan and be able to get away far enough to be able to commit suicide.
