Empathize - The first step in the design thinking method, a skill that allows us to put ourselves in others’ shoes to help us understand their problems and feelings. Empathizing someone's emotions can be very helpful for design thinking to better understand how to get them what they need.

Define - Finding the problem and research, This is where you put together all the information you have And observe what you have collected. The Define stage is important in many ways, it helps designers gather ideas for features and lots of other elements that let you solve the issues. The defined stage helps lead the way to the third stage and design thinking.

Ideate - The creative process, generate ideas to help or solve the problem. This is where you start creating ideas 4 your prototype. you create techniques and lots of different ideas to solve the problem.

Prototype - create the solution to the problem/ make and find different solutions. Prototyping lets you explore our ideas and create

Test - one of the most important steps, evaluate your product and adjust. Once you test your prototype you then start to redesign your product or strategy.  

Many well-known companies know and use design thinking, Toyoda, Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, and more. Design thinking is used for solving problems and prioritizing other people’s needs. 75% of organizations are engaged in design thinking. Nordstrom Rack is one of the most customer-centric companies. Nordstrom applies design thinking to their store to help their customers solve their issues. The customers wanted a way to compare photos of themselves with different sunglasses on. The customers also wanted to have the option to zoom in on pictures and tag each image, link them to the sunglass model too. 

Another company that uses design thinking is the Bank of America. Bank of America was looking to increase the use of their savings accounts by their customers.Here's how they use the design thinking method to help. Bank of America has developed a Roundup concept that lets the customers save with every transaction they make. Customers are able to get the same good feeling they get after every transaction they make at the bank. The results in this helped them gain over 10 million new customers and saved them 1.8 billion dollars.

Everyone loves coffee, Especially Starbucks coffee. Starbucks had interviewed lots of customers to understand what they could do better in their shops. What they gained from that is that they wanted to see an atmosphere that provided a sense of relaxation. Starbucks positioned round tables to make the solo coffee drinkers more comfortable, which ended up in a big success and when they re-interview their customers the complaint was no longer there.
