Faith-based organizations try and create a sustainable and opening environment for those who are ex-offenders and, that need a positive and welcoming work environment. Many characteristics of Faith-based organizations in America are the connection they have to the church. These organizations are often an extension of the church and strive for the unification of both giving a safe and healthy work environment over all, as well as, keeping a connection with the churches mission.  Faith-based organizations primary focus, however is helping an ex-offender move towards being independent and self-reliant again. These Faith-based organization strive to help not only the mental health of these offenders, but also to help them find their independence again, despite being someone who has a background that is not outstanding. 

A certificate of employability does not expunge or erase a criminal record. However, with a COE an ex-offender has an aid in getting a job. A COE can remove blocks to things like a license you might need for a job, as well, make it easier to be employed overall. This can be a major plus in trying to reenter society and make finding work slightly less of a task. It can influence a company to allow an ex-offender to join their company, as it shows that despite the offence, they are eligible for relief.  A COE is not always a guarantee that the company will hire, or even consider an ex-offender, but as previously stated can aid in a company’s decision to hire.  A COE is beneficial for several reasons, and will aid in a person’s ability to get a job should they have a pardon or not. 

A pardon, gives a company more of a reason to hire an ex-offender, but each pardon type can also control how a company’s choses to hire or not. This in most instances is the best option for any offender, when trying to reenter the work force. If it is a partial pardon, despite it exonerating an offender for some of the punishment or the legal consequences of a crime, it does not relive an offender from the entire punishment. A partial pardon, is beneficial for certain crimes, when reentering, but based on the offence itself, it may still not be enough for the ex-offender, and a company can deny employment. Though a pardon is almost like forgiving a convicted person, and can help give a chance at freedom (a shorter sentence) it does not mean, everything is forgotten there will still be an underlying offence.

A partial pardon is still going to show that you have an offence, but not in depth and with a COE will, can make getting a job fairly easy. A full pardon will unconditionally remove the convictions of that person and the consequences of their punishment for the crime, and will make getting a job fairly easy, one would just need to readjust to life. An absolute pardon is similar to a full pardon, but in this case the offender is granted pardon without any kind of conditions. A conditional pardon, is where the most risk would be involved for a company to hire an ex-offender, because these can be voided in certain circumstance. A conditional pardon is conditional for a reason, and should that offender commit another crime, that pardon would be null. An absolute would be the best-case scenario, then full pardon, followed by a partial with COE, then just a partial pardon. 

There will be a risk across the board for each company that considers to hire an ex-offender. Just because an ex-offender has been pardoned of a crime, does not mean they wont again. Even more so if a pardon offender is committing another crime, and is convicted of it, will be a part of the sentencing for the next crime they commit, even more so if the crimes are similar. A partial pardon still shows up, and a company has more of an idea that the offender could commit a crime again, and they have to take that into consideration when hiring. Now if an offender, has an absolute pardon/full pardon usually they will not show up on a general back ground check, however should a government or military company run a back ground check, it may show up, as most government official companies will not hire with any kind of criminal back ground. It is up to a company on what kind of back ground check they run and what they do and do not include. Again, a Partial and conditional pardon are going to be the first red flag that is going to pop up for a company, and even with a COE there is a higher chance of a company not hiring the offender, than if they have an absolute or full pardon. Faith based organization use religious tactics to help influence the dynamic of offender to company relationships. The bible of course has many references to forgiveness and new beginnings. And if a Faith based organization is trying to be the bridge between the two, one could see the direct correlation of using bible-based knowledge to communicate and control the narrative of the entire situation. The bible in general influences life in many ways, in the government, house hold life, even when one is in prison. A company could see that the ex-offender has been pardon, has a COE, and is working with a faith-based organization to find and integrate back into life and the work force. 

Inconclusion an ex-offender, working with a faith-based organization can be beneficial to an ex-offender. An ex-offender can be reintroduced into society, things like faith-based organizations are a prime example. COE`s and Pardons also help further move along. Both give the ex-offender the ability to move back in to society. Pardons even when not total, can aid in allowing a company to see that the person is redeemable. COES`S help give the offender the ability to get the required things they need for work life, and entering into society. Including religion and bible aspects into the variety can also aid with specific companies depending on what area they are in and can make the offender seem more human and approachable.
