In the novel “Frankenstein, by Mary Shelly” she wrote about characters showing a lot of different characteristics. Victor and Frankenstein both showed isolation and revenge throughout the book regularly. They both weren’t isolated or wanted revenge at the beginning of the novel but started to show it when things didn’t go their way or weren’t treated right.

Furthermore, Victor was a very promising child as a kid, he was treated well and grew up in a good family with good parents and even had his life set up with a promised wife that his parents gave him. Although that didn’t last very long, Victor started to read books about science and was extremely interested in them. He was so interested in them that he started to do his research and perform the science, but his dad didn’t like the idea of performing those exercises or even reading the books and told him that he shouldn’t be reading the books. Well, Victor did not listen, and he even continued to read the books and even ended up going to college to learn more about this evil culture he was picking up. Once he started college, he was very lonely and totally isolated his family away from him and even his best friends. Additionally, through his college life his mother ended up passing away and he got very sad and isolated himself from everyone and even started to partake in making real things. Victor wanted to see if he could make living things, although he had good intentions at first and wanted to cure some sickness along with making living things, he was surrounded by darkness which led him to make a monster. The monster was ugly and could do almost anything he wanted to, which was learning extremely fast and even learn how to speak different languages. Victor was so terrified about what he made and started to not sleep at night and started to have nightmares and even started to see the monster in the real world. With that fact, he started to isolate himself to the point where it wasn’t healthy and didn’t talk to his family, friends, or loved ones.

Otherwise, the monster showed both revenge and isolation. The monster first started to show isolation when he was hated, and everyone didn’t even want to be around him because he was so ugly. The monster even tried to show himself to blind people to see how they would act since they can’t see him and his ugliness, but still didn’t matter, the people still saw him and would throw rocks at him and would throw a lot of shade at him without even knowing who he is. The monster also showed a lot of revenge in so many ways, some of those ways include when the people threw rocks and him. But the monster was only trying to be included, he even tried helping someone out of the river but that still didn’t work, and the people still hated him for who he was. Another fact that brought the monster to want revenge was Victor. Victor showed no love or even consideration towards the monster even though he created them. For example, the monster asked Victor to make him a female companion and he would leave Victor alone and the rest of the people in the town. But Victor declined and even went on vacation instead of doing the favor the monster asked for. Above all the monster's blood was boiling because he was so mad, all the monster wanted was revenge on Victor. But he knows the only way to get back at him was to kill someone that he loved dearly.

Overall Victor and the monster showed isolation and revenge throughout the book and demonstrated it in so many ways. They both showed it in many ways but were both consumed by evil that brought them that way. Above all, they were both consumed by something that didn’t bring anything positive into their life or try to fix it by hurting others not always physically but also mentally.
