Essay Sample about Freedom of Speech

The right of speech is a big conflict with many different factors that many people tend to disagree with. These are the pros and cons of freedom of speech. 

The main reason that the right of speech is important in America is because of our government which is a democracy and republic which means that there are two different beliefs that many people fall under or there can be an independent. This means in the full run of things that everyone can voice different opinions and their opinions are not right nor wrong. 

The pros to having the first amendment is that people can think what they want and cannot be right for voicing their concerns whether it is politics or anything else that you voice concern about. The reason that the first amendment most certainly the right of speech as passed was so that people could voice concern or reason on what they think is right or wrong in their aspects of life or what is going on around them. 

The freedom of speech in the full run of things is about being able to say and think what you want without being restricted to certain beliefs. This means that if you do not agree with what other people think or say that you can voice your concerns or opinion on what you believe in without being right or wrong, for instance if you believe that abortion is not a good thing that you can voice your concern and say that you do not believe i it which does not make you a bad person it just shows what you believe in and makes your opinion contradicts others beliefs.

The cons to this is that people can take it out of hand and think that whatever they say is the only right thing to do and say, for instance if people believe that firearms are bad that nobody should have them and they should be illegal and banned all around instead of just not having them for themselves. This can also alter other people's opinions if they think that it is the only right thing to do if that is what they grew up around; it may alter their biases of how they look at conflicts and other problems involving them or others around them.

The main gray areas for this is how far people should be able to take their feelings in today's society. For instance people should not be aloud to loot and riot just because they think something is unfit in society, many people nowadays think that just because they think their opinions is the only one that matters they can take everyone that does not agree don and make them feel less than because they do not have the same beliefs whether it is religious, political, or anything in between. This is not illegal but it is a bad judge of character and should not define somebody by their beliefs in what they find best fit.

The main limitation to the first amendment right is that people can not just go out of their house and shoot somebody because that is what they think is good in their opinion or right. Somebody cannot kill or do a crime and expect to not get in trouble because that is what they think is their right or what they can do because it falls under their guidelines.

These are my reasons for the pros and cons of the freedom of speech and how it is practical in America in the actions people perform today. The first amendment right is one that all people should be allowed to have and should not make them less or more than for how they feel about certain aspects in their lives.
