“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”(Christian Standard Bible, John 1:1). God has always existed and forever will exist. Jesus was the human form of God, being fully human, and fully God at the same time. Even if you do not believe in the Christian faith, you can agree that Jesus was a very good and impactful man. Through his time here on Earth, he influenced thousands, and his impact still affects the world today.

Jesus was born sometime around 6 and 4 BC of a virgin mother Mary Magdalene. Mary  who married a man named Joseph who became Jesus’ earthly father. He was born in the town of Bethlehem in a stable because all the inns were full, due to Caesar Augustus' decree that all his people must get registered.  Not much else is known about Jesus’ childhood, which is due to it being poorly documented. However, we do know about most of his adult life along with information about his death.

As an adult, Jesus performed many miracles, as documented in the bible he turned water into wine(John 2:1-11), fed 5,000 people with 2 loaves of bread and a fish(Matthew 14:14-21), and even healed thousands(Matthew 8:1-4). Eyewitness accounts prove that Jesus performed many miracles, accounts of these miracles can be found both in the Bible and the Karan. Jesus through his time here on earth gained many disciples and followers. The ones most talked about though are the main twelve disciples: Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, Simon, Thaddaeus, James, and Judas. All of them eventually went out and shared the gospel of Jesus to the world and continued sharing the gospel till their deaths.

Judas is the one who betrayed Jesus and caused his death. According to Rutledge (2015),” All four Gospels pointedly include three solemn predictions of the passion” That means there are four different accounts about how Jesus’ death was predicted before it happened. Jesus died around 30-36 AD, after being placed on trial and hung on a cross. He is said to have only been dead for 3 days and then raised to life again. After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to many including his disciples. There are at least 10 accounts of Jesus appearing to people after his resurrection recorded in the Bible. He appeared to many people in the 40 days that he walked the Earth after his resurrection. He then ascended into heaven with a promise of returning one day.

The death of Jesus is a story that has never died, it is one that almost all of the world knows. Mainly because it was so brutal and affected so many people's lives. This man performed many miracles including bringing people back from the dead, died, and no one knew what to do about it. Then he comes back to life proving he is the God of the universe for many and causing disbelief for many others.

Even if you don't believe in Jesus as your savior, we can all agree Jesus was a very influential man during his time here on Earth. He showed the world how to love, by feeding the poor and helping the sick. He was the perfect man, said to have never sinned. Through his ministry, he was able to communicate with millions the message of God and Christianity. He saved the world through his death on the cross, defeating death forever, and leaving behind the Holy Spirit. Meaning that now all we have to do is accept Jesus into our hearts and believe in his never-ending grace to live with him for eternity in heaven.

When asked how Jesus has changed his life, Josh Teague, the executive pastor at First Baptist Lavaca, said “ Jesus even though he is not physically here today, he changed my life forever. He helped me get through the loss of my twin brother and has led me into the ministry I am in today”. Jesus can change people, not just his physical or spiritual presents changes people, his story of living a perfect life changed humanity forever. Josh further elaborated saying that “When he first read the story of Jesus he knew there was something special about it”, He knew before he was even a Christian that Jesus was something special. Even people like Muhamad and Buddah claimed Jesus to be a great prophet or a wise teacher.

Jesus coming down to Earth created a whole religion and that religion has shaped amazing things such as the United States. His life, death, and resurrection changed the world. Leading people towards a good side of life, because honestly even if Christianity is wrong and Jesus was just a good person and died forever never to return. Christianity gets people to try to live a good life striving to help others and I believe that Jesus setting that kind of example and leaving that kind of legacy turned the world toward a brighter and better future.

God has always existed and forever will exist. Jesus, a man who was fully human and fully God, was able to set in motion an entire religion that revolves around being a better person. He changed how people view each other and allowed people to believe and hope for the impossible. He even was able to make such an impact that people who don't believe that he was the lord of all know that he was something special. Even if Jesus was a fake he is still an honorable person that I choose to believe is my Lord and savior. Jesus was an amazing person who was able to influence thousands and leave a lasting impact on the world today.
