Lewis and Clark weren't respectful of Native Americans. Lewis and Clark started in 1804 May 14, to map out the land and check out to search for a passage. Lewis and Clark were told by President United States President to “Act in the most friendly and conciliatory way possible.”(Doc 1, Paragraph 2) Throughout the Expedition, Lewis and Clark Experienced several difficulties and troubles.

Throughout the journey, Lewis and Clark encountered numerous Native Americans and were told to be respectful. Lewis and Clark entered their land telling the Native Americans their intentions, so we thought. But Lewis and Clark’s stories were one-sided. Most Native Americans encountered by Lewis and Clark were started their land and compelled down the river with poor soil. “Most of the tribes Lewis and Clark encountered were forced off the rivers that sustained their commerce and culture and herded onto reservations with poor soil.”(Doc C, Para, 5) By doing this the Native American's land with numerous years of labor, soil, and food down the drain. By doing this various Native Americans probably died because of starvation and lack of a home. As said within the start,” Act within the most friendly and conciliatory way possible.”(Doc 1, Para 2)

Lewis and Clark kicked the Native Americans off their land and isn't a friendly or conciliatory way. Lewis and Clark killed off 90% of the Native Americans from bringing diseases. Although Lewis and Clark's intentions weren't to bring any diseases, they didn't try to prevent the disease at all. Additionally, within the document, Lewis and Clark’s guns got bumped off by a Native American. Then Lewis and Clark chased the Native American and stopped him, then stabbed him with a knife to the center. Although he stole the gun, the Native Americans grew up with bows and failed to even understand how to shoot. Additionally, there is a good chance they were employing a musket and took time to reload. Although if the gun was already loaded and a more modern version, it'd presumably have a safety pin put on it. Also, in reprimanding the Native Americans, they were allied in the first place and had no ill will. "Which I also forbid because the Indian didn't appear to wish to kill us.”(Doc B, Para 2)

While within the expedition, Lewis and Clark had threatened the Native Americans. As said within the text, to not wage war or make any bad acts. If you disobey any of those, they'll be punished and may result in death. “Could consume you because the fire consumes the grass of the plains.” additionally to the current, Lewis and Clark mention the Native Americans as “children” and don't respect them in the least. “Children . . . we've got come to tell you.”(Doc E, Para 1)Furthermore, Lewis and Clark said Jefferson can easily shut them up and shut the rivers they have to trade. Not only this but this proves that Lewis and Clark’s story was one-sided and only showed the great parts. Finally, Lewis and Clark also mentioned if they disobey all their belongings, land may be overtaken by Jefferson's army because it was far too big compared to Native Americans so, they were forced to obey the laws.

In conclusion, Lewis and Clark weren't respectful to the Native Americans, and also the story was one-sided. Lewis and Clark threatened, killed, and compelled the Native Americans off their land. Likewise, as bringing diseases and not trying to forestall them in any respect. Lewis and Clark’s expedition completely invaded their land and failed to respect the Native Americans or “Children” ever.
