There are many problems that accrue from school uniforms. These include the use of expression, the cost of uniforms, the gender choices, and the use of learning problems. These revolve around the issue that school uniforms should have a policy for the children. All school uniforms should have a major policy change.

The use of expression in school uniforms is low. This is since you have a set of rules for wearing school uniforms. Most of the kids want to express themselves fully to show what they really feel about. You can also make groups depending on the uniforms or personality radiating off of the clothes. This is good since you do not have to assume what the person is because they have the same uniforms as everyone else in the school. Many talk about how they lose their self-identity from these school uniforms. But, with no uniforms you can express yourself fully without getting yelled at and receiving a dress code violation. Many state that there is no chance that they can express themselves through fashion in school because of these uniform policies. Now the cost of uniforms is very high. But, if you have none then you can have a bar on how much you can spend but for school uniforms your parents cannot make a budget to how much you can pay for your clothes. An example of this is a school’s jacket and shirt. Both of these together cost $66.99. This is a lot of money for just one shirt and jacket only for the student to wear it for a week. If you were in public school and were not allowed to wear any type of school uniform then you can have a budget of less than what the jacket and shirt cost. So your budget could be $29.99 and you would be able to find what you need with the budget. Though you might be 1 dollar off if you really want something you are passionate about and really want to wear.

For the gender choices, there is a lot of sexism for these outfits. What this means is that women are forced to wear short skirts and boys are allowed to wear shorts and belts. What I hate about these gender choices are the lengths and what the rules are. What I mean is that what if boys want to wear a skirt and a dress if that is a dress code. They would be dress code violated and be written up for what they are wearing, even though it is the uniform. What if girls want to wear some of the boys' uniforms, the same thing would happen to them. They would be told that they are not following the dress code violation and will get written up or even suspended for what they were wearing. Also the length of the uniforms are atrocious and very uncomfortable for their emotions. What this means is that sometimes for the uniform the skirts for girls are too short. That the skirts are so short that you have to wear hidies or shorts under it. But even if you are wearing hidies and shorts you can sometimes see it under your skirt. I also hate that most of the people who make the dress code violation are mostly men. Though I know that there are some females that make dress code rules and are important for that school. But for the rest of the schools that do not have females for these roles then they will make the rules without thinking of the students and what they feel about. Also some of their rules that they make for these uniforms are stupid and does not make sense sometimes. One example of these rules are the shoulders and ankles. What this means is that you are not allowed to show your shoulders or ankles because it is sexually revealing to the other students. This does not make sense because who is attracted to SHOULDERS AND ANKLES. Yes I know there might be some people who like shoulders and ankles, but not children. Some of these rules make no sense unless the people who make those rules are the one who are attracted to those types of things. What makes these uniforms uncomfortable and makes your learning go low. So the reason why these do not help make your learning higher is because the uniforms are uncomfortable. This makes the students more focused on how uncomfortable the uniform is instead of learning in class. Yes some students do focus even if it is uncomfortable to wear their uniforms, but this only depends on the material of these uniforms. So this means that if the uniform is made up of soft material then it would increase the use of learning. But if you have very rough and terrible uniform conditions then you will learn less.

So, in conclusion school uniforms are bad and there should be a change in the policy of these uniforms. By using these examples you can state that there needs to be a change in these choices and make them better for the students in the school.
