The extinction of different species is becoming more common because of actions like global warming, overhunting, and the destruction of habitats and ecosystems, which could throw the World's ecosystem off balance. I am going to focus on the extinction of arctic species and why it's  bad and what we can do about it.

A great example of how global warming impacts a specific species is the Pacific Walrus. The Pacific Walrus feeds on clams. They also eat many other kinds of benthic invertebrates, including worms, crustaceans, and other soft-bodied animals. Though Walruses may occasionally eat fish, the majority of their food source lives near the continental shelf, in relatively shallow waters. The mother walrus will leave their young on the sea ice while they forage. The accelerating retreat of sea ice puts the newborns safe but farther away from the mothers’ food—meaning longer, more exhausting swims for the mothers, and more time alone for the calves. Essentially making it harder for the Walrus to live and over time making them go extinct.

We have seen how global warming has affected the walrus but how about overhunting and fishing? The Caribbean monk seal (Monachus tropicalis) was only declared officially extinct in 2008, though it died out in the 1950s. The seal was largely hunted to extinction, though overfishing of reefs may have also depleted its prey source. Overhunting could easily affect other animals and eventually us. That may seem extreme but if you go through the system it makes sense, for example over hunt dolphins then the plankton fish that the dolphin eats will populate and diminish the plankton population, sense the plankton contributes between 50 to 85 percent of the oxygen in Earth's atmosphere we would lose a lot of air. One could say that nature adapts and I agree but nothing can adapt that fast and to that extent.

One might think that it would do nothing if you just start recycling there so why do it why do something when no one else does. what's the purpose of wasting time and energy on something that does not even help the planet here's why when one person recycles a bottle that person is very likely saving some living organism the average person creates 204,000 lb of trash through their life if one person just recycles  just one-tenth of the trash that they create that would 20,400 fewer lbs in a landfill 20,400 less trash on the face of the earth

In conclusion, the extinction, and destruction of arctic animals and their habitats, is altogether an unacceptable and fully preventable action occurring around the world that is throwing the world off-balance in other words breaking the cycle that the animals, insects, and ecosystems depend on.
