I watched as a middle aged man threw his rotten apple core on the ground. I learned that this is called littering. Even as a kid, I was infuriated by his actions. I was triggered by how the man carelessly threw his trash on the ground. Within a few seconds after the man left, I quickly picked up the apple core with a tissue and threw it into a nearby trash can. At that moment I realized that picking up trash was going to do good in the world. One club I hope to create is a trash pick up club. This club is helpful because it can make a better environment for humans and animals, people can reduce the money spent on litter cleanup for the community and around the school, and everyone can also make sure the future generations live a healthier life. 

Picking up trash can help make a better environment for people, as well as animals. When I was younger, I always saw a lot of trash on the ground. I saw it at parks, malls, and mostly every sidewalk I walked by. As a kid, I was always curious about how trash always ended up in multiple different places. This made me want to help the community with picking up the trash. This trash pick up club can help people by making places more pleasant and welcoming. With all the trash on the sidewalks, people can feel disgusted by different objects and materials that they end up stepping on. This club can also help animals by making their homes a cleaner place. Animals live in different habitats and many homes for the animals are becoming less safe due to littering. Marine animals can suffocate on plastic in the ocean, while the animals on land can accidentally chew on litter on the ground. The same animals that die from the same repetitive objects can eventually become extinct. With this club, humans can help restore the living organisms’s homes and habitats. 

By picking up litter collectively as a group for free, the amount of money spent on litter cleanup can also be reduced in the United States. Many places in the United States require the government and many local businesses to pay for litter cleanup. Even when local business owners do not make much money and they do not litter, the profit must go towards a deed another person did. With all the work local business owners do, their money is going towards the whole community rather than only themselves. I always believed that people should always look after everyone. By making this trash pick up club official, and with the help of the students, everyone can save money. Litter on the school premises can also be a problem. With the help of the trash pick up club, students can make the school a more comfortable place with the reduced trash on school grounds. Instead of having one janitor monitor and clean the school grounds, students who consent to engage in the club can help out as a non-profit group. By making a trash pick up club, the government can use the money that is originally spent on litter cleanup for another activity the community and school can benefit more from. 

The trash pick up club can help the future generation. Students who attend the trash pick up club can help decrease the litter for the future generations. With people actively participating in picking up trash for the community, individuals can make sure that there will be less waste on the ground. This club can educate more students about littering. Numerous people get in accidents with litter being on the road. By picking up trash daily and with the help of multiple people, future generations will see a difference in the environment. Less vehicle accidents relating to litter are bound to happen. With the difference in the environment, animals can be safer, as well as human health and their well being. Throwing away trash from school grounds can also help when students graduate and more students join the school. When more people join the school, it is more welcoming by having a clean school. Students can be confirmed in a safer surrounding with less people stumbling over another student’s trash. If students partake in this club, people can create better conditions for students in the future.

A club that can be helpful towards many living beings is a trash pick up club. With this club, humans and animals can live a safer life, the mass amount of money the government spends on litter cleanup will be reduced by the help of students cleaning school grounds, as well as the community, and the future generations can live a better life, knowing that there is less litter on the school grounds and Earth. By participating and taking action, everyone can spread awareness to different people about what is currently going on around the world. If many people participate in this club, the earth, as well as the living organisms living on the Earth, can be guaranteed a safer and healthier life. Many schools that offer this club can have a clean property for students to stay on during their time at school.
