A watermark is a trademark or signature that is superimposed onto a photograph to preserve the original artist's image. Watermark was invented in 1979 and has gained a lot of popularity. They were first used to identify the paper maker. A watermark can be embedded into a photo in different ways, so it's not noticeable. It is an easy process that can be done in Photoshop. It requires the skill to hide the mark in the image. In order for a photographer's image to be protected, a watermark must be generated using three basic steps.
The first step in generating a watermark is to choose fonts or copy the trademark or signature and paste it over to the new document. By doing this, the watermark on the image or photo will be unique to that person. Try out different fonts to see which ones would work well for a watermark. Once that’s done, go ahead and choose the logo or signature for the watermark.It can be any symbol one desires, or it can even be a person's signature. Aside from the font, color and grayscale options are also available. One should look at the backdrop color of the image to determine if it should be in color or grayscale. The watermark will be apparent as a result of this.
Next, in Photoshop, use the marquee tool to form a rectangle around the watermark. This will add the logo or signature watermark, so one can brush the watermark onto the artwork. Paste the logo or signature on the document and grab the marquee tool from the tool box on the side. Marquee tool is a selection tool that selects the Photoshop layers in different shapes, for example, rectangle, triangle, and ellipse. Once the marquee tool has been selected, go over to the trademark or signature and draw a rectangle over it. This will select the whole trademark or signature and add it to the brush in this manner. The brush tool now has the signature or symbol loaded.
Finally, create the watermark stamp. This will choose the brush with the watermark, which will then be selected and ready to be applied to the artwork. To accomplish this, go to edit, then define a brush preset, and give the brush a name. By naming the brush, it will be easier to find the custom watermark from all stamps.Once the stamp is named, click OK for the brush to be selected from all the stamps. Once created, the watermark can now be displayed on the image. One can now just brush the watermark onto the artwork and the personalized artwork is ready to be shared on the internet.
