Essay Sample: Egypt's Domestic Violence Against Children

Rudaina, a six-year-old girl, arrived at the hospital with bruises on her eyes, face, and other parts of her body, as well as burning marks in her abdomen, and a fractured leg. Investigations revealed that what the girl it exposed to was because of her father, and this accident was not the first time, he always beat her in revenge for her mother's divorce and her mother's marriage to another man (El-Mihy, 2021). This is a story about what is happening in Egypt regarding domestic violence. In fact, adults taught us to respect our parents from a young age and listen to all they say without discussion. Although family should always come first, there are those families whose existence is a nightmare for their children. It is bad enough when parents or relatives do not understand their children, but it is even worse when they physically abuse them to raise the child. Domestic violence occurs for various reasons, including a cultural perspective on child-raising and the lack of a strict domestic violence law that has exacerbated the matter in Egypt. These factors contribute to a variety of psychological illnesses in youngsters, as well as the potential for them to become criminals as adults. In order to reduce child abuse in Egypt, Egyptians need to better their parenting skills through training and pressure govt representatives. Egyptians must enhance parenting skills through training and put pressure on government representatives to establish a rigorous law to decrease child abuse in Egypt.

Domestic violence is acute in Egypt. There are many arguments about this problem. Parents in Egypt have a unique cultural perspective on raising children, and some of them encourage the use of violence with their children as a form of upbringing and respect for the elderly. As well, some parents believe that using violence against their children makes them fear you and your violent response. If you discipline the child, he or she will never repeat the mistake. This accurately matches the content in Chapter Three, Analyzing the Arguments in the Book Language of Composition, where the author writes that a claim of value asserts that something is true or untrue depending on a person's viewpoint (Shea et al., 2018).  Furthermore, there is no stringent law to protect abused children from their parents, which validates these parents' views. Unfortunately, Egypt's legislation against child abuse only applies if a kid suffers significant harm that results in a permanent handicap (El-shishtawi, 2021). Worse, many Egyptians consider striking children to be natural. If they witness a youngster being harmed by their family, they do not interfere or even seek assistance. They don't even contact the cops, but they claim to be his family and that they have the right to act with their children. Tragically, there are so many mistreated children who are unknown since there are no official reports on what is going on.

"Where there is power, there is resistance," Michel Foucault observed (Vinthagen & Johansson, 2013), and this is what Egypt lacks, the strength and majority to oppose this fatal ideology. In Egypt, the concept of reproduction is particularly significant, and many marriages fail due to childlessness. But why didn't they consider how they would cope with this child, build a psychological environment for him, and become a mentally balanced person? One of the most serious issues in Egypt is that their understanding of upbringing is to offer food, drink, and education, and if these necessities of existence are present, the kid must become mentally balanced. However, many Egyptian parents do not know how to cope with their children and beat them if they do not obtain decent grades. Some Egyptian families do not comprehend their responsibilities or their children's rights.

One of the most significant advancements that I see throughout the world in many nations is the courses that couples who are going to have children attend to learn how to approach their children from day one in various ways to raise their kid's happiness and abilities or even a psychologically balanced youngster (Barth,2009). I believe that family planning organizations in Egypt should make mandatory training courses for all newly married couples or those planning to have children, to acquire culture and skills about upbringing and how to deal with the child to provide him with a safe environment free of any physical or psychological violence.

When no law protects the rights of children who are subjected to domestic violence daily, and no one enforces that law, it makes parents even more arrogant and ingratitude toward their children because they know no one can do anything for them, and they are free to do whatever they want with their children. In Egypt, the law applies if a kid sustains a significant injury that results in a permanent handicap, and the law does not apply until there is an official report and the matter is referred to a court. However, the reality is even worse than this legislation. For a long time, millions of Egyptian children have been subjected to domestic abuse, which has been the norm for some of them. In Egypt, they ignore the matter and do not report it to the police to seek the kid's assistance, until the child is exposed to the most heinous form of torture then they notice the situation is unusual. Egypt lacks legislation that protects children from the start of any assault without requiring major injuries.

I hope that one day there will be a law that allows a child to submit a complaint against his family if they abuse him without requiring major scars or bruises on the child's body for them to believe him. One of the most critical remedies that must be done is for the government to designate accountable entities to oversee how each family treats their children. If they detect a kid being subjected to domestic abuse, they sue the parents and have a statute in place that does not require a handicap as a result of the assault. This is the most crucial solution that Egypt must undertake. That is legislation and follow-up bodies from the Egyptian government to ensure that all families treat their children with kindness.

In conclusion, domestic violence takes many forms. Domestic violence against children and wives is very devastating because usually, the law is not in their favor. Domestic violence happens to a variety of causes including social attitudes, lack of awareness and education, ignorance of religion, and the law's lack of protecting women and children from abuse. Every day in Egypt, there are several examples of those who are exposed to violence by their families, without people knowing the harsh reality of this violence. Domestic abuse should be criminalized with the toughest penalties in Egypt, and civil protection agencies should be available to protect the wife or children if they are subjected to violence early on, rather than after they have been tortured and killed. In addition to obligating Egypt's family planning organizations to impose training on married couples who are ready to have children, they are forced to attend parenting skills training classes to learn how to cope with their children and raise a psychologically balanced kid. There is also monitoring from specialized agencies to monitor how each family deals with its children and to guarantee that youngsters are not exposed to violence. These are some of the remedies that may be implemented to safeguard future generations from being subjected to the brutality that many Egyptian youngsters have been subjected to to the point that they have become indifferent to the crime. These are the easiest strategies to ensure that future generations understand their rights and to enhance child's psychological health.
