The correlation between cell phone usage in young teenagers and health effects later in life has grown immensely by virtue of research done by countless professionals. Cellular devices of all sorts have led to 1. mental disorders such as depression and anxiety becoming more and more prominent in our youth, 2. sleep deprivation through all ages, and 3. even signs of brain cancer later in life. Continuous research studies and experiments with qualified professionals have given us reason to believe that cellular devices, and more specifically the overuse of them, are leading factors for abnormal complications affecting us individuals later in life. The overuse of cell phones and devices of that sort can lead to implications that are rather small and won't affect you as much or conditions that can transform your life for the worse.

Mental Health seems a touchy subject for some, understandably. Phones are a contributing factor for the mental illnesses in our adolescence around the world. Two recent studies have shown that teens using their electronic devices for over 3 hours a day have an increased risk of contracting a mental health problem (Labos). Arranged in England, a study has shown that scholars aged fifteen and sixteen, who use social media upwards of many times each day, are more likely to find it harder to obtain happiness, have less satisfaction with the things going on in there, and even having bigger problems such as anxiety that affect them on the daily. Although both genders seemed to have struggled when using social media, women had a 13% greater chance to have more psychological distress (Labos). The overuse of phones and specifically social media has caused many students around the world to have clear indications of high-stress levels, anxiety, and even in some instances, depression (Shoukat). When becoming addicted to our cell phones, we never accurately understand what we would do without them, causing thoughts to stimulate our brains about what we will do when we cannot reach our phones (Shoukat). Overall, the overuse of cell phones brings a negative impact on the brain and the mental illnesses that are soon to be caused, whether that be inadequate or considerable effects.

Throughout the lives of all young children eventually aging to adulthood, phones will affect us in some good and bad ways. With the information brought to us by trusted researchers, we have learned to prevent the overuse of cell phones to the best of our ability. These seemingly great devices have extremely harmful outcomes when not used properly. Cell phones can affect the mental health and brains of all ages, and in some cases leaving victims with depression, anxiety, and even forms of brain cancer. Although the implications may seem rare, phones are a deadly cause of unwanted illnesses for children all around the world.
