Everyone in life has someone that we look up to and in some way want to be like when we grow up, whether that's a parent, a sibling, a teacher, or maybe even someone you've never met but heard about their work. We call these people our heroes. For me, my dad is my hero. He is caring, brave, and inspirational.

For someone to be caring they are always there for you no matter what they have going on in their life, they are there when you need them and you can always count on them. My dad is my hero because that's exactly who he is, he's the type of person to drop everything and be there for you, especially when it's one of his children. He's the dad that moves his kids all around the world with no questions asked as well as fixing anything that needs to be fixed. I have three older sisters that are all in their thirties and he has done everything he could for all of them. He has moved my sisters from house to house, with the longest one being from New Hampshire to Virginia, as well as driving from Myrtle Beach to New Hampshire to get the Uhaul first. He is always there to help whoever needs it.

My dad is not a hero just to me but to many others as well. He was a firefighter for over 30 years and saved many lives. As he was just doing his job, I'm sure there are people out there that will never forget him. To be a firefighter, you have to be brave. You're running into burning buildings, being the first one to arrive at an accident and see the aftermath, people die and you have to continue doing your job and help the next person just like you helped the last one. It takes a lot of strength and bravery to continue as a firefighter for that many years and see the things you see.

A person who you look up to can be a very big inspiration in your life. My dad being a firefighter has inspired me to want to help people and become a nurse. I grew up around ambulances and firetrucks, because of this I originally wanted to be an EMT or a paramedic but then decided nursing seemed more appealing to me. Hearing the stories of how he helped people inspired me from a very young age to want to help people too.

In conclusion, my dad is the person in my life that I look up to and want to be like when I grow up. He is my hero for many reasons including his bravery, the inspiration he has had on me, and how caring he is.
