Months ago I read a post on Instagram about  truth. I already know that people have divergent and extremely diverse opinions, after all every person it's a world and are all valid, but the argument formulated by it was compelling. The post was a response to another post that showed 2 people arguing about a number written in the sand that was in the middle of them.  Person A said that the number was a 6, but Person B who was seeing the number the other way around claimed that it was a 9.  We know that if we see 6 upsides we may see a 9 and vice versa, therefore the message of the original post was relativist, different persons equals different perspectives and for default different opinions, that we shall respect. So the response post proceeded to debunk it : “Someone wrote a 6 or wrote a nine 9, that means that either Person A or Person B it's wrong. Also not all opinions are equal or built the same, you can´t make a bold statement without evidence, logic premise, research or facts and dare to say that your opinion qualifies as valid as someone who did it and disagrees with you”. Understanding that, I realized that without evidence you´re just another person with an opinion. Everybody it's able to make an insane assumption out of nothing, the evidence and well thought process separate true from false. It's possible that I'm obsessed with being right or finding the truth and questioning everything, but if i´m gonna stand for what I believe, i must check that my beliefs are logical or true in the first place, especially if that beliefs are a key part of my life purpose, morals and values. I must follow the evidence no matter what conclusion I will find at the end. Whether I liked it or not, that's a whole different topic.

This class, called “Political Ideas” is giving me the opportunity to learn more about history, politics, sociology and philosophy. Challenges me to think, question, develop my own posture and investigate to support it. And illustrate that knowledge is the main purpose of this essay. Tackling 5 main topics seen in class before: Human Nature, Economics, State, Individual and Freedom and Society.

What are my postures like?

First of all, there are 4 Main Philosophical Postures or ways to approach human knowledge, truth and reason: Rationalism, Materialism, Empiricism and Idealism. Of these four, I lean more to Materialism, primarily because we have seen a huge influence and causality of how material conditions affect human nature, several times in history. Your life could be marginally different if only you were born one block away. Your current belief system, politics postures, life purpose, education and religion changed and unrecognizable. Nevertheless I ought to take in consideration all four of the most important movements in the history of human knowledge. For instance I rate rationalism and empiricism as the only valid ways of obtaining falsable information, exclusively a combination of reason and experience that were able to give birth to the scientific method, science and philosophy. Finally on idealism, I'm obligated to admit my poor bagage of the movement, besides the questioning of the own existence of true knowledge, material beings and pure metaphysics. From my lack of knowledge, I disagree with idealism, as a result of the lack of probes about the “Ideas World” and the power of consciousness.

ISM?

Probably the most famous Political Ideas are the “ism” related to Right Wind and Left Wing: Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, Nationalism, Globalism, Protectionism, Progressiveness, Conservatism, Ecologism, Liberalism, Secularism, and exists enough “ism” to fill a booknote. Personally I find right and left generalizations misleading and reductionist, trying to identify your beliefs with limited terminology, bold concepts and rarely keeping an open mind. Leading to a polarized society, which causes a lot of confusion. Despite this, if I desperately need to define my position in the political spectrum, I will do it at the end of this essay.

Human Nature:

Fundamentally mankind is an animal.  Henes our original life meaning consists in surviving and reproducing our genes, like every other form of life. On the contrary, 6 Million Years of evolution and natural selection, achieve a far superior reasoning, use of tools, morals, but most importantly massive collective cooperation and the capacity to choose. Our huge scale of cooperation gave us an unfair advantage over other animals, and this is why I believe in a small objective human nature, because cooperation and the creation of society, were cause directly out our social nature, always living in groups was the best way of survive that we could find, so we made it natural in every generation of the Homo Genre by natural selection. That sense of community, family and unity came from our most transcendental decision. As apes we leave the trees and began to walk in two legs, resulting on woman's hips narrowing, so gave birth was common cause of death, especially when the heads of the babies were begin to growth, consequently natural selection favored premature births, that were safer for the new physiology of women bodies. Thus human cubs are highly ineffective if we talk about surviving in a wild environment with lions and hyenas. Especially for a lone mother or couple of apes, causing an obligatory cooperation of a herd of human adults to raise cubs. A human male will take care of a child even if it is not his son. An exaggerated flashforward to the present, we can cooperate with a complete unknown, where two strange chimpanzees will fight.

Although, I must clarify that even if our nature has a scarcely basic moral sense and large social needs, our unique variety of material conditions as a species contributes to a malleable morality, values and life sense. But objective natural social and moral beings.
