A conspiracy theory has been going around where a good fraction of people on Earth believe it's flat. I’ve come across many videos on YouTube where channels break down why the earth is flat. I'm surprised that there are people who believe in this conspiracy theory. There has been very obvious evidence that points to where the earth isn’t flat. These believers find ways to contradict that the Earth isn’t round. This belief has many people creating their perception of why it's flat or that the earth is a disc. That I have known a person who believed that the Earth was flat, they said that all of the evidence and pictures of the earth being round is false. The evidence we see of the Earth being round is set up by the government making us think it's round according to my friend. I believe that the Earth is not flat and that it's a round sphere that orbits around the sun.

The history of the conspiracy theory goes back to the early civilizations of Egypt, Greek, Europe, and Asia. Early Egyptians believed that the earth is a floating disc above the ocean. Many of these civilizations had a similar image of the world as a disc that's hovering above a body of water. The maps of the earth had concepts that were similar to other civilizations like the Greeks, and Chineses, In the 1850s the Modern Flat Earth movement started when an English writer named Samuel Rowbotham wrote Zetetic Astronomy: Earth Not a Globe. Zetetic astronomy was Rowbotham’s method where he had imagined the Earth as a flat disc. Many people believe in the Zetetic method rather than the scientific method. Rowbotham believed that the center of the disc was the north pole and around the edges of the disc, there are ice barriers. He had an idea that the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars moved above the surface of Earth. His idea now is one of the core models of Flat Earthers who are people who think that the world is flat.

Flat Earther claims that the Earth is a disc that is surrounded by an ice wall at the edges. They believed that the government manipulated the public with fake photos of the earth being round. The government is putting a perception the Earth and that it's not scientific reason where they don’t believe, its more of the flat earthers having no trust for authorities making up fake evidence. Also, some support the Zetetic Method which opposes the scientific method and contradicts it. The flat earth conspiracy theory ties in with the NASA conspiracy where NASA is faking pictures of planets and space expeditions that occurred. Flat Earthers think that NASA put out false information and evidence about the Earth. That NASA is hiding the public from the truth with this “false” perception of the Earth. The government wants us to believe in what they inform us through NASA. The Flat Earth conspiracy theory gets more recognition when celebrities talk about their support and how they believe that the world is flat. An example of a celebrity that supports the earth being flat is an artist named B.O.B who had statements to the public that he wanted to raise money to send a spacecraft of his own to see if the earth is round.

The evidence of the flat earth theory has been more mainstream when major celebrities had their opinion. Flat Earthers are examples to appeal to antiquity because they believe in Samuel Rownbotham’s method and the idea of the earth not being round but flat. His old ideas have many Flat Earthers trusting this evidence than scientific evidence that is gathered with the technology that we have now. This shows that they agree with the old wisdom more than modern wisdom. The evidence these Flat Earthers give to support their arguments on why the earth is flat is invalid with what the evidence proves.

Many pieces of evidence prove that the earth is not flat or a disc but the Earth is a round sphere. For example, an experiment that you can do to uncover evidence by looking at boats sail away from shore. when we’re looking at things moving far away from us, they gradually disappear below the horizon. This means the Earth is a sphere because you are looking at an object like a boat when it sails away, it disappears below the horizon. If the Earth was flat we would still see the boat in our vision from a distance. see more over the horizon of all our physics. Also, another example is if you go up onto a tall building or mountain and you will see more over the horizon. Physical photo evidence from space telescopes shows that our earth is a globe, not a disc.

The Flat Earth Theory is one of the many pseudoscience and conspiracies that is believed by many people in the world. Even though there is evidence that provides the conspiracy but they are not factual. The amount of scientific evidence that provides the Earth is a round globe planet. It's okay if everyone has different views and opinions on the earth but there's a science that can prove that the earth is not flat or a disc. You can’t always change one's opinions on some things like the earth being round. Again most people who believe in the Flat Earth conspiracy theory are against the government or hate it.
