As they say, we are all different, but it does not make us any less of a human being. After all, we live in a diverse world, and for us to work in harmony, we must accept and embrace our differences. We can all see how our differences and uniqueness are starting to be noticed and recognized, and I believe we should apply this concept to education more particularly. Every person has the right to an education, as well as the ability to learn and study. When I say everyone in this context, I mean all children, including special children or those with impairments. Regardless of their disabilities, I believe students have the right to be treated fairly and get a high-quality education. For this to be possible, schools must implement inclusive education.

Some parents may believe it is risky to put their children in an environment where they are vulnerable to harassment and discrimination, while others may assume it is impossible because there are numerous factors to consider, such as specially designed establishments, a distinct and appropriate method of teaching, and this will require a significant amount of budget and effort. Yes, it will be challenging, especially in a third-world country like ours, and a large amount of effort and personnel will be necessary, it is also understandable for parents to be concerned about this arrangement. Nonetheless, keep in mind that Inclusive Education is a child’s right not a privilege.

Every child has a fundamental right to education, as declared in the Salamanca Statement, and children with special needs must have access to conventional schools with adapted education. As a result, Section 1 of Article XIV of the 1987 Philippine Constitution states that the state shall promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels and shall take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all, calling for the creation of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of education relevant to the needs of the people and society. In addition, through its Special Education (SpEd) program, the Department of Education (DepEd) provides the appropriate educational interventions for learners with specified exceptionalities. To present, the Department of Education has identified 648 Sped Centers and regular schools that offer the program, with 471 catering to elementary children and 177 catering to high school students (Lacson, M., 2017). Given the existence of these programs and other constitutions, we are beginning to realize and appreciate the importance of Inclusive Education for all children. This is a good start in terms of expressing what Inclusive Education can bring, not just persuade other schools to do the same, but also to assure parents that their children have the same access to quality education as other children.

According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), inclusive education is "A process of addressing and reacting to the diversity of needs of all learners by promoting involvement in learning, cultures, and communities, and eliminating exclusion from and within education." The ultimate goal is for the entire educational system to foster learning environments where instructors and students understand and value the challenges and benefits of diversity. Learning environments are emphasized in an inclusive education approach, in which individual needs are met and every student has the opportunity to succeed. In other words, embracing Inclusive education would help create a much healthier and safer atmosphere for our diverse learners. We can finally admit and acknowledge that there is an education for everyone in this way. Students with special needs will have the opportunity to make friends, socialize, polish their skills, dream about the life they have always wanted, and live a regular life, unlike other children.

Every educational system in the world must improve and strive for the best outcomes for all students. We have the chance to reclaim key universal ideals for peace, justice, and welfare by recognizing children's educational needs and constructing empowering curriculum and methodology. We must reach out to those who are closest to us with empathy, listen to children, and fight for justice, beliefs, and ideals (Mag, Sinfield, & Burns, 2017). Implementing Inclusive Education will ensure that all children, regardless of their differences or conditions have a bright future. It will give the feeling of belonging and comfort knowing that they are valued and they are starting to be recognized by our society. Inclusive education is the first step toward creating a more inclusive society. So, let us destroy the walls of discrimination and stigma by implementing Inclusive Education for all students, for it will make this world a much safer and much better place for everyone, especially the children.
