What is happiness, and how do we define it? We live in a world where the most important thing is money. Life without money is a hard life, and with it, you become financially stable living in comfort. There are many discussions on this matter on whether money really does buy happiness or not. The way I perceive it is that money can buy you happiness and  it is an essential factor in order to achieve happiness. This is why I strongly believe that money does indeed buy happiness.

If we look at today's world, we can see all the corruption around the world. We have the pandemic, wars, hunger, climate, etc.Ask yourself the question, which of the sides are being affected more the poor or the rich.Obviously the poor. People underestimate the privilege of not having to spend a day without having to worry about financial needs.Money increases the quality of life. Let's look at the quality and quantity of struggling families who are working more than one job just to get by. Wishing that one day they could make enough money to enjoy life with their family and friends.Travelling around the world with good quality food without having to constantly worry about the aftermath. That's what we call the joy of life. It's quite selfish to state that money doesn’t buy happiness when you disregard the suffering of those who don't even have the privilege of experiencing happiness. That's why I believe money is an opportunity for happiness especially in today's society where everything is run by money.

There are unfortunately many cases of victims not having the opportunity of escaping their circumstances all because of money. We have forced marriages, abusive homes and so one. In order to control their victims, abusers block and restrict their access to financial assets, ensuring that they stay with them or return to them if they leave, locking them into an abusive cycle. Money has the power to change one's opportunity to change their situation. Money is the foundation of achieving happiness. If you don't have the foundation you can’t build up the rest. For instance there are many factors to achieving happiness such as good health, your mentality etc. How can a person change their mentality to positive thinking if their situation doesn't allow it. In order to achieve happiness you need to build the foundation which is having money.

On the disagreeing side there are people who believe that money can't buy you happiness. The reason being  is that there are plenty of rich people who aren't happy. People tend to forget that happiness is not easy. Happiness has different levels and in order to achieve  the different levels you need to have a certain fundament. Once you have achieved the base you can build happiness with other factors such as health, mentality and spirit. The people who have all the riches in the world and  still aren’t happy are either selfish or greedy. Its human nature to keep wanting more and greed leads you to a never-ending cycle of feeling unsatisfied. The only way to achieve the ultimate happiness is being grateful. If a person lives a modest life and tries to pursue happiness the right way they will achieve it.

In conclusion, happiness isn’t something easy. There are many factors that contribute to it and in order to achieve it you need the fundamental which is money. Money has the power to change one's circumstances. Money makes life easier allowing families to quality time with each other and doing the things they love without having to worry about the financial needs. A person can achieve happiness with money if they pursue it the right way. All the things considered money does buy happiness.
